Remarks

College is pretty good, it has a good culture and environment as there are no reservations and everyone has come because they are meritorious. But the fees are pretty high for a middle-class background person to afford. Although if one really passionate about engineering or at least serious about his future can make it worthy.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The course is well designed as per current trends in technology and industry preferences. There is a continuous assessment in BITS in the forms of assignments, projects, term paper (presentations) and a mid-sem exam. The end sem exam holds only 40% of your total grades so the rest comes from the components mentioned early.

Placement Experience

4

Placements are pretty good in BITS-Pilani no matter in which campus you study. They are a bit shaky for few of the branches like chemical and biotech, but for other popular branches like EC, EEE, CS etc placements are almost 80-90% with a decent average package. BITS has a Practice school concept, by which every student get an opportunity to do an internship in leading companies for a semester.

College Events

5

BITS evidence a number of technical, cultural, sports events all around the year. The major of them include Quark (technical fest), Waves (cultural fest), Spree (sports fest), TEDx BITS Goa, Coalescence (management festival). All of these events are notional level and have a footfall of around 35K.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Admission Fees: 36,200/- (one time), Semester Fees: 1,59,000/- (per sem), Hostel and Mess advances: 22,000/- (per sem), Institute Caution Deposit: 3000/-(per sem), Plus some blah blah things. Total: around 2,00,000/- per sem, as of 2018-2019. So for a 2yrs of master course, you'll end up paying 8~9L (coz fee may hike any time).

Fees and Financial Aid

There are a few scholarships for B.E students but for M.E there aren't any. So mostly master students apply for Education Loan through an SBI branch within the campus.

Campus Life

4

Campus life as such is pretty happening and on top of that you are in Goa, the heavenly place, yeah so definitely you can chill out as much as you can. But gender ratio is still not that good. It's obviously better than IIT's but not as it should be ( like at least one on one :P ).

Hostel Facilities

4

The hostel is compulsory in BITS. Hostels are pretty decent and are mostly personal (no sharing, but for B.E 1st and 2nd yr guys have twin sharing once (and even one of the two girls hostel is twin sharing :p feels bad ;D ). Mess and hostel fee is around 22K-23K (slightly variable with time).

Alumni/Alumna

BITS-Pilani being established in 1964 has a very good alumni network spread all across the globe. Senior is very helpful and active on various social media platforms in order to help and answer your queries.

Admission

There are two modes to get in BITS-Pilani Higher Degree(HD) courses (in any of its three campuses). One, by giving BITS HD exam which is conducted in the third or fourth week of May, and second by GATE, which is conducted usually in 1st week of Feb. There is no interview in any of these admission modes, the selection is purely merit-based and there are no reservations as it is a private institute. One needs to separately apply to BITS website for M.E/MTech admissions (even if they have qualified GATE) the forms are available in the month of April.

Faculty

4.5

Faculty in BITS is highly qualified. Mostly all are Ph.D. holders and many of them have decent industry experience as well. They won't spoon feed you, but will surely clear all your doubts related to the subject. They'll also help you out in your projects and will also sometimes guide you (if you ask for) regarding your future moves.

Placement Experience:

IIT Goa is a newer IIT, but the college places a strong emphasis on placement. The college placement adheres to all guidelines and standards, and the quality is comparable to that of the IITs. The college placement committee is very important because it is fully responsible for inviting companies for placement and is successful in inviting good companies to campus. Our batch's highest salary package was around 35 LPA, and the average salary package was around 12 LPA. During the placement drive, over 75 companies came to our campus.

After 2nd semester students are applicable for placements. Companies visiting are very much it is not countable also and they will provide an highest package of 40 lakh also and minimum to 5 lakh also. Percentage of students getting placed is about 95-100% in the worst case because of COVID otherwise it is 100%. My plans after getting degree is to continue the job that I will get through campus placement

Placement Experience:

In aspects of enrollment quality and packages, India's IITs are very good. IIT Goa is of the same caliber as IIT Delhi, and it offers some of the best recruitment opportunities in India. The college has a track history of 100% placement. The highest selection offer is approximately 47 LPA, and the average earnings package is approximately 18 LPA. The placement committee is constantly working to improve college placement standards.
