Course Curriculum Overview

Course was well structured and comprehensive as well as relevant for computer science grads but there was less focus on practical learning. Also, course was not as good compared to employment requirements.

Class Size: 100Course Fees: INR 160000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

There was abundant scholarships and programmes for reserved categories and most of the state government schemes were also allowed. But the fees were increasing every year and currently it is about 20 per cent more that what I had enrolled for in 2018.

Campus Life

Very good infrastructure built, lots of food stalls and eateries around. Many other amenities are provided in the campus itself like shops and restaurants. There were enough infrastructure to house the thousands of students. Hostel facilities were good too.

Hostel Facilities

Hostel were clean, spacious and they provided us with all the necessary amenities. The mess food was not delicious but healthy and the premises where the food was made was well sanitised. I had lived in the hostel during the covid lockdown period, so I can confirm that the premises and living standard was really good. Wardens are good as well.

Hostel Fee: INR 76000 per year

Admission

Admission process was pretty smooth and easy during my admission time, however, now there is a lot of hassle during the admission due to the sheer number of students they take in every year. Lot of focus on onboarding as many students as possible in every course.

Faculty

There were about 76 students per section in the 1st sem but in the later sems we were around 100-110 students which obviously meant we were not able to learn to the fullest as sometimes the lab appartus were contested and other issues. There was little to none contest in the computer labs as they were aptly equipped

The curriculum changes as per the need of the industry norms so that student can attain knowledge about the basics as well as the niche technologies.This is the aspect to choose the course and the lab work and continuous competitions help us with the industry trends. The management could be improved. The frequency of exams help us learn well and difficulty is between easy to medium.

Chandigarh University: Is it worth the investment?

Placement Experience:

The student become eligible for campus placements from 5th semester. The companies visited per year are approximately 200. They claim 100% placements but in reality they divide students into placement and non- placement batches called tpp and ntpp. If you slip up even once, you will be debarred from the tpp group. The highest package is 53 LPA. The average package is 4.5 LPA. Companies like JP Morgan, TCS, Capgemini, PlaySimple, Cognizant, Nokia, Philips, Morgan Stanley, PWC, KPMG, EPAM, Watchguard, High radius, OYO, Coding Ninjas, Samsung, etc have already came. More companies are yet to come. Since the student intake is too much, placements are really hard to get since there is too much competition. In the end, people get hired in mass recruitment companies and get minimum pay of 3-4 lpa. My plans are apply for off-campus jobs and start working in corporate after the degree. If I don't get a job, I haven't decided what I will do next.

Placement Experience:

Placements are good but I am more looking towards offcampus placements. I will do internships from my second year and in first year I'll make the base. I contacted to some of the seniors they said doing hardwork will definitely lead to a good package.

There are alot of company visiting and alot of them take 2-3 with really good package and some handful with good enough packages of nearly10 lpa and the highest package was i think of in last month was of around 60 lpa . My imperfectly perfect College life reviewed for everyone who needs it

Placement Experience:

Though when I got admission in this college, I saw the placement rates were very nice, around 95%, but maybe it was our session's fault. I passed out in 2024, and in that particular year, the placements were not as expected and as seen in the previous batch, so that was something very much disappointing because I paid so much money on a degree, only everything was good about the college, but in the end, placement matters during my session. Usually, the companies that hired for example, 10 students only hired two students.

I didn't apply to any other college. I chose it because it was close to my home. The admission process to give CUCAT exam for which the fees is 1000 rupees. The passing marks are 40 out of 100.
