Course Curriculum Overview
At the beginning, I was not very passionate about chemical Engineering butnow, at the end of 6th sem , I love chemical Engineering. I have gained so much interest after learning subjects like plant design and process control.
Internships Opportunities
This year ITC, Mondelez , Reliance, Accenture etc came for internship and offered stipend between 15000- 100000. There are several other internships which are provided by PSUs like ONGC, RCFL which do not give stipend but give a very good opportunity to gain practical knowledge and industrial experience
Placement Experience
Students become eligible for campus placement after 6th sem. Many core and non core companies visit the campus like reliance,ITC , Deloitte, Goldman sachs, John deere and many more. Highest package for this year for our branch was 16 lpa and average was 10 lpa. Percentage students placed are 60% for our branch .
Fees and Financial Aid
Institute fee is 137000 and hostel fee is 80000 on yearly basis. If you are SC/ST you need not to pay institute fee. If you are gen /obc and your family income is les than 5lpa, you'll get 2/3rd remission of your institute fee. If your family income is below 1lpa you'll get full remission of institute fee.
Campus Life
Technical fest AXIS is held in April month and cultural fest AAROHI is held in November. We also have started a litfest named Karwaan from 2023. There are 32 clubs in VNIT and the extra curricular part of our college is probably the best compared to all other nits. Classrooms are equipped with wi -fi etc. Classroom Complex also has AC classrooms. There are wide range of sport activities offered here. Our college also has a swimming pool.
Hostel Facilities
Each room has 1 table , chair ,almirah , bed. The rooms are well maintained.The meal quality though is not good here. Hostels are affordable if you refer to price but are definitely expensive for your freedom. The rules here are too strict and meaningless.
Admission
VNIT Nagpur takes admission on the basis of JEE main exam through JOSAA seat allotment. You need to have 75% in 12th boards to appear for the exam. You can find application form only on NTA website. There are reservation benefits for OBC, SC,ST, GenEWS and females. The exam takes place once in a year.
Faculty
In my branch, faculty to student ratio is approx 1:18. Most of the faculty are experienced, have published several research papers and some of them also have place in top 2% scientists in the world. The negative point is that most of the faculties are not that passionate about teaching. But, if you are a good student , they support you.
