Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

One would have to learn all branches of engineering both theory and practical in the first year. The subjects of first year is common to all branches. Difficulty of the exams are on a moderate scale. Everything depends on which college you get in the allotment. If it's too colleges like CET, the exams conducted are strict and are on a tight schedule so that you can understand the value of time and learn how to cope with stress in real life.

Internships Opportunities

3.5

The college provides everyone with upto 2 months of duty leave for internships in the 4th year. One has to find the internships on their own and get it approved by the college. College doesn't provide you with internship like campus placements but they do allow you to intern for a company with or without stipend.

Placement Experience

4.5

The on campus placements starts from the third year. One would have to register themselves with the college placement cell in order to sit for placements.. CET has one of the best placements in the state next to NIT Calicut. There are many companies visiting the campus both core and IT companies. Generally every year there would be 600+ offers made. The highest varies every year, the average is 7/8 lpa overall. Most students sitting for placements gets placed. Many pursue post graduation in MBA or M.Tech after college, some pursue their interests and passion.

Fees and Financial Aid

Tuition fees for the college is very less compared to any other engineering colleges in the country. The rate of increasing the tuition fees varies, it isn't a fixed increase. But if they are to increase they wouldn't increase it to more than 12k. The complete cost of my education would be around 50k. There are many scholarships being provided by the government, college alumni association and also private companies. All of them are based on the family income of the student.

Campus Life

5

There are many fests. Department fests, pg fests and ug fest... The most famous ones are Disha, the freshers fest; Drishti, the annual technical fest and Dhwani, the cultural fest. Apart from this there are many other fests. They usually are held during the even semester. There is a great library which includes books from the 70s even. Sports and extracurricular activities are given immense importance, there are cycling clubs and official college teams for many sports. There are many technical, literature and arts clubs in CET. They are usually one of the best in the state, one wouldn't regret joining here

Admission

Admission process to this college and all other engineering colleges in Kerala is done through the KEAM entrance exam. KEAM rank is based on your 12th board physics, chemistry and mathematics marks along with your score in KEAM entrance. Every process of examination and option registration can only be done online. The only problem during this online process was that the notifications and information from the DTE was limited and their customer care service is nearly non existent if you are to encounter certain problems during the processes, although one can sort those in their own way it might be difficult for some. One can get a huge advantage of they have reservations. Fees per year is 9650. One can find everything related to this on their website.

As seniors said the average package is around 10lpa.If you have descent skills and above 8 cgpa you will get this average package. If you upskill yourself with effort which many students do here then you can also get above 15lpa which many seniors got.The highest package was off-campus by an ECE Student in Google despite having cgpa around 6.He had very good skills as a full stack developer.

Placement Experience:

The placements here are quite good, but not great. Because only 50% of students in a class are getting placed. From S7 onwards the placements have been started for our department. But for other departments, from S8 only companies have arrived. For CSE department, many companies are coming which include Cognizant, SOTI, Mitsogo, EY, 6D Technologies, etc. Our senior batch students have placed at many companies in this. But comparing with other senior batches, the placements at our batch is really bad.

Students are eligible for placement from the 7th semester and internship from 3rd semester. You can apply for internship on your own right from first semester but college gives aid from 3rd semester. The major recruiter is ISRO which offers 40-45 jobs for aerospace engineering. Also other companies like CDac Airbus Boeing and DRDO and HAL visit for recruitment. Nearly 85-90% students get placed while some opt for Higher education and research too. My primary goal is to get into ISRO also I will be preparing for gate examination to complete my IIT dream.
