- The location of NIT Calicut. It is filled with green and under the lap of western ghats
- The TBI cell which helped us for the building of our startup.
- The RAGAM cultural fest where the footfall was around 10000 in all three days with lots of activities and events
Dislikes
- The food was not good according to me, but there were many options.
- The chemical department was far and newly build.
- The hostels were 40 years old and w=overall crowded.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum was structured including all the required subjects. There were courses and pratical classes too. The course for chemical engineering could be better in 4th year as the industry standard. The exam frequency were 2 minor tests in middle of the sementer and 1 final exam in end of semester.
Internships Opportunities
I did not attentedany intership as I have my our startup where I was working. I had a team of 10 people. There were many core companies which came for the interships. The intership was average 40000. Half of the college got placed in interships.
Placement Experience
There were placement cell which used to help the students in internship and jobs. I graduated in 2021 so the number of companies were bit less in core departnment. The average salary for chemical branch was 7.8Lakhs
Fees and Financial Aid
As I am from general category I had to pay the whole fees of 65000 approx for each semester and there was a 5000 mess and hostel fees each month. There were many scholarships which any student can avail if they fall in a particular category.
Campus Life
I was involved in many clubs and associations so I was state that the there were many different activities which you could have explored according to your interest. There were 2 major fest; Tathva and Ragam.
Hostel Facilities
The hostels were bit of old bit there were new hostels that were in process of building. There were many mess where you can eat different varity of food according to your preferences. The hostel and mess fees were approx 5000 per month
Admission
I gave JEE Mains for the admission 2016 and 2017. My rank was 19308 in general category in 2017. The difficulty of exam was medium to tough. After the rank I checked out collegedunia for the previous years cut-off of all the colleges and the courses. I analysed the proirity according to my rank and filled the allotnment list. After 7 rounds of seat allotnenment I recieved NIT Calicut Chemical engneering branch.
