CMRIT Bangalore, B.Tech, Civil Engineering

Remarks

Good because the campus is beautiful and there is a great diversity Bad because there is no much experience when compare to the faculty section ( talking about Civil Engineering).

Entrance Preview

To be frank, I needed a civil engineering course and with the rank of 22323 in KCET, the only college which was available was CMRIT.So by default I had only option left was CMRIT. Even I could have got a good comparable to CMRIT but then I needed to go in the Management quota for that, but I didn't want to waste more money. So I went out to opt CMRIT for my UG.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

Initially it was a bit struggling because since I was in 2012 batch and my college inaugurated in 2000 by Late Indian President - A.P.J Abdul Kalam, further CIVIL engineering was introduced in 2011.So we didn't know how the placement process will work here since no batch was graduated. But as the year passed by, it was pretty good. But I was disappointed with the faculties as there were few, who I believe were up to the mark to be so called Faculty and the rest were Shambolic. By the time I graduated in 2016, there was just 1 civil company who came for the placements, and even there no one was selected. So i would access my course curriculum (6/10)

Internships Opportunities

No, the college doesn't provided any internship and neither they had any discussion about it and neither they motivated the students to undergo such kind of internship.

College Events

2.5

1) Cultura (It is a College fest which is organized every year in the month of March for 2 days) which showcased everything, right from Dance competition to technical fest to Live Dj Performance 2) Industrial Trips for each course in the Third year of the Engineering which helps the students to know how the practical things works and how to cope with the different challenges when the student come out of college.

Fee Structure And Facilities

It's Feasible for the local people that is for the Karnataka students but it is expensive for the the people who are from Other states except Karnataka. Since I am from North India but had studied 12 years in Karnataka, so I have got the domicile of karnataka (as per their laws) and which gave me an authority to write KCET. So my fee structure pe year was Rs 125000 and the same for other state people was around Rs 280000.

Fees and Financial Aid

I don't know about any good scholarship which is offered by CMRIT but if it is there, then I don't know about it.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

Since I have never lived in hostel, so I don't know and I can't rate the hostel facilities. But since I have to rate, I will rate on the basis of what my friends said, I will rate 7/10 and for the food, I will rate 8/10. So i will say, it's good for for someone who is going to enter college and want to stay in hostel.

Alumni/Alumna

I don't have any comments and I can't say how it is helpful. For me I believe it is not helpful but it can be helpful for someone who have a good networks with Alumni.

Exam Structure

It was good when compared to Exam structure Each Semester was of 5 months and in each semester there were 3 internal exams and practical exams as well and the college had to filter the best 2 out of 3 exams and thus these 2 exams scores were added in the final Examination score to get the final score.

Admission

With the batch of 2012 entrants, KCET cell decided to change the counselling process to online. So the following steps are : 1)First I underwent KCET exam 2)Corresponding to KCET Exam, I had made an account KCET website where I needed to fill the courses which I intend to pursue as per my priority 3)Then as per the ranking, the website showed I got B.Tech Civil Engineering at CMRIT 4)Then as per the CMRIT procedure, I submitted my school and Higher secondary school credentials and payed the first year of my college fees 5)Moreover with School & Higher school credentials, I needed to submit my Caste certificate as well. Thus this how the admissions process of CMRIT was.

Faculty

2

There were just around 15 faculties. Even in that 15 faculties, just 5-6 were able to be called as Faculties and the rest were not good. There way of explaining was so horrible, which I faced the repercussions of it. Out of 15 only 1 teacher holds a PHD degree. So i was disappointed with the faculties.

It's a government college so the fee will be less.you can find multiple PhD holders here as your lecturers.and above all of this good study environment. Since you get lecturers with high info on their respective field it will be very educational to have conversations with them and you can even discuss other topics that are not related to just academics.
