Course Curriculum Overview

5

The curriculum provided by the college is quite impressive. It covers all the important areas that a student must know. It really helps the students to connect with the exact world around them. Teachers are also extra friendly that they teach students as if to their own children. All doubts can be got cleared with the help of the staffs. Exams are conducted regularly with no delay. The results are also published on time. The professional support given to students on different areas of studies is really appreciated. I myself feel so proud of being a part of this college for the past two years. The studying atmosphere is worth experiencing for the young generation. The campus gives the complete support for curriculum based activities.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

The college has been offering many internship opportunities since the start of this campus. Many students have got into several companies through these chances. It depends on how we use our chance of getting a job. Several companies and banks offer jobs and internships. Internships are provided by places out of Kerala also. Several famous institutes provide internships to students who are capable in their view. All we need to do is to apply for such chances whenever possible. Many departments have projects to work on , in the final year of their studies. These works will help students to bring out their hiding potential on several areas of life.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure of CMS college is not so complicated. It has a moderate fee structure. Several scholarships are available for students studying in the college. The links of these scholarships are regularly shared by the teaching staffs to the students through class groups. By receiving a scholarship it becomes more comfortable in the case of fees to be submitted for the course. Self financing departments are also present in the college. They take the complete course fees themselves. They won't be getting any reduction for the course fees. The course fees are normally submitted semester wise. For a normal student, it is around 2500 and 3000. It won't increase much above that as to my knowledge. Also, several departments provide internship programs with stipends for students who are capable. Also campus placement is avaliable for those who are interested in getting a job very soon.

Campus Life

4.5

The campus provides all types of cultural and curricular programs very often. Union day, college day, cultural fests, department fests, association inauguration and cultural programs, science fests, language fests, food fests, several quiz programs, debates, and so many are conducted in the campus. The seasonal celebrations are also very well conducted. The library is a vast and superexciting area in the college. It has a big collection of books on several areas of study or of entertainment. Students are provided with computers in a single unit within the library for referral works about studies. The library itself is a world where we feel like we are lost in another world of books. Clubs are very active in the campus. Several clubs including music club, photography club, dance club, college band, etc. are working very skillfully for ages. Anyone can improve their skills by being part of the clubs in CMS.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

The college has hostels for the accommodation of students and staffs. The hostel rooms are spacious enough for leading a normal student life. Rooms have storage cupboards for putting dress and other belongings. The food is very passionately served and their services are so good in terms of quality and quantity of the food served. Both veg and non veg are included in the hostel food menu. Students can give their preference about that. Initially, when taking admission to the hostel, their will be a caution deposit to be paid. It will be returned when we move out of the hostel later. Fees for accommodation and food is also affordable for the students. PG and rooms are available near to the college. Food will be provided in the PGs. Other hostels are also available within about 2km of the college.

Admission

As I was really curious about the college I was about to study, it made my whole journey really fascinating. The college had no entrance exams. The admission was purely based on the marks students received in their tenth and twelfth classes. We just need to give an application for the desired course. The management committee will select enough students based on several criteria such as marks, reservation, sports quota etc. The form to be filled is given in the college website. The college provides special reservation benefits so anyone who are eligible in that manner also can give the application. The course I took was Zoology. Exams are conducted regularly on a month basis and also Semester and in semester exams are also conducted. Teachers do help us in every problems that we may face. The college stands with pride even now after 200 years of its establishment. The history behind the college is quite exciting. All those who wish to visit or join the college are heartily welcomed.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum is almost best. Curriculum doesn't influenced me in deciding this course. Curriculum should add internships. Currently there is no mandatory internship, if students are interested they can do internship during vacations. As we are learning psychology which need to be practiced in real world settings, curriculum must include real world training to help students understand things more effectively. Currently intervel between exams are non existent. Internal exams, then semester exams, you blink once, next internal exams, followed by semester exams. Syllabus is understandable, can learn if you try. Exams are also manageable. Real world examples and stories can be included in teaching methods, as psychology is related to humans and human interaction, to get better grasp of concepts. Rather than focusing on passing exam, should focus on the concepts and understand them in-depth. There are a lot of theories to study by heart. And there are many repetitive topics that overlap, but in different semesters.

Course Curriculum Overview:

My course is Bsc Biotechnology. It is a research associated course. Its main scope is in research. But in every industry let it be medical or industrial a biotechnologist is required. I would like more practical knowledge than theory knowledge in this course as it is needed to be implemented in labs hands on experience is essential. Exams are conducted every 6 months as semester. Class tests and model exams are conducted frequently. Assignments, projects, seminar ,etc.. are given every month.
