Mar Athanasius College of Engineering, Kothamangalam.

The course curriculum used to follow Kerala Technological university like the majority of engineering colleges in kerala. But starting 2025, the college will be exercising their Autonomous status and will be having their own revised and updated curriculum. I believe that the revised and autonomous curriculum will be much more relevant with modern updations in syllabuses and modern technology and education policies.

TCS, Cognito and Just Global are a few companies that offer placements here. Students need to have completed projects and group projects before their placement interviews. It is advisable to not have any backlogs or supplementary exams in your record.

The college has a good amount of placements every year and the numbers have been going up every year. Most students who study here find themselves placed by the last semester. TCS, Ion digital Cognizant are some companies that offer placements. I will mostly like to get placed first and then after working for a couple of years I might go and do my Mtech

Kerala government provides "E-grantz" scholarship for eligible students which exempts them of tuition fees and provides them with a small amount of monthly stipend. I believe that the hostel fees is also covered for such students. For the rest, the merit students pay around 9K per year+ hostel fees. And management students pay more than that. Being a government aided college, the fees and affordability here is quite good.

Campus life is good. We have plenty of events, clubs and extracurricular activities to participate in. The college even hosts a TedX talk every year. They have a tech fest "Takshak" and a cultural fest "Sanskriti" both of which are majorly hosted by students. We also have active sports teams. (Basketball, Football, Volleyball, Athletics, Chess, Swimming and more)

Students had to appear for KEAM Entrance Examination and upload their relevant documents and prepare a preference list of colleges. The cut-off rank was around 2,500 (out of kerala) and much lower ranks for students availing reservation benefits. I got in with 5674 rank due to my OEC reservation. Admission procedures were smooth. Document verifications were done in the office college itself and orientations were held and everything was convenient and well informed.

No there weren't any group discussions or interviews. Just the KEAM entrance examination which also takes into consideration your board exams marks. The college has a relatively high cut off marks range as well.
