Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The course basically teaches about human body and I was ways curious about the same. I was interested to know how each tasks are carried out inside the organs and what happens when the systems inside the body fail. All the medical colleges in India follow the curriculum proposed by NMC, National Medical Commission and it is called CBME, Competency Based Medical Education. It prepares as well for the real world application. I don't think there is a need for any improvement as CBME curriculum focuses on both theoretical and practical knowledge of the students. We have class tests, part completion tests and internals before the university exam.

Internships Opportunities

4

There are no internship opportunities from any companies. However every students have to work as an intern for 1 year after completion of the course. During this time period they will get a stipend of about 8000 rupees. The workload for interns is a bit heavy. They may also have night duty.

Fees and Financial Aid

There is an increase of tuition fee (upto 10%) for each batch and the fees remains same for the batch throughout the course. The complete cost will come around 35 lakhs without the hostel fees. There are few scholarships available for the students for which certain eligibility criteria are there. There is no chance for campus employment.

Campus Life

3.5

There are no much programmes in our college. We usually have the onam celebration, the graduation ceremeony and the college day each year. There are a lot of books and journals available in the library. Facilities and technological provisions are satisfactory. There is no sports day but we have the opportunity to practice few sports inside the campus. Few clubs are there. For eg, music club and also there is a college union, which is very helpful for the students

Hostel Facilities

4

The hostel alloted to us is very clean and has good infrastructure. There is 2 students in each room. We have an attached bathroom. There is facility for washing and drying the clothes. Meals provided are of good quality. We have a fixed menu with different foods for each day of the week. Registration forms for the hostel is available in the college website. Hostel is somewhat affordable.

Admission

To study MBBS in any medical college in India, we have to clear NEET. The application form, fees, dates are all given in the website neet.nta.nic.in. There is reservation for SC, ST and in kerala OEC also have reservation. NEET is conducted once a year and it is a moderately difficult exam. The topics for the exam are from Physics, chemistry and biology NCERT textbooks of class 11 and 12. Once the results are out, we can apply in the All India admission process as well as the state admission process. We can give a list of colleges according to our priority and will be alloted to college based on our marks.

Even though a bit tight and rushy, this is in fact the best curriculum provided and followed by all medical colleges in kerala. The frequency of exam is high and difficulty level is as same as that of KUHS. This provides relevant experience for the students to weite the university exams

Course Curriculum Overview:

It's always relevant to the content being taught by the teachers. They always use application based questions to prepare us for a real life situation as well. First aid training was also completed. Some of the teachers are very interactive while some not. Short exams are conducted on a weekly basis while internal exams are conducted every 2/3 months. Not that difficult but it isn't that easy either. Very strict checking, nothing is liberal.
