Likes

Curriculum is good and informative. Practical classes are good.
Tech fest called Dhrishti is very nice and informative.
Dhwani,Dhisha are cultural fest which provide a platform for students to showcase their skills

Dislikes

All Semester duration is less and hectic .
No semester break for students to relax.
Faculties are not friendly and cooperative.

Curriculum is not bad. It include different levels of topics that enhance our knowledge and practical skills. DSA,Communication Network,DBMS etc were included in curriculum which were asked for most of placement interviews.

Internships Opportunities

There is Placement Cell through which many of students got internships. It provide lot of opportunities of skilled students. A student got internship offer from Amazon. Also certain companies in which students got placed is providing internships like Visteon ,Tata exlsi etc

Placement is good compared to other govt colleges. CET has record placement last year. CS is department in which almost all the students would got placed. Amadeus, Air India,Bosch,LatenView, Visteon etc are some of the companies.

Fees and Financial Aid

Tution fees were affordable since it is government college. Many of scholarship like Egrants , Pragathi ,Sammynathi were made available to eligible students. Tuition fee waiver, hostel fee waiver is offered by scholarships.

Campus Life

Since CET has many clubs ,campus is full active from 9 am to 9 pm. It encourages students skill development. It is helpful in moulding better personality among students. All the clubs conduct many programmes and students were able to interact with many famous personalities.

Hostel Facilities

College hostel provides most affordable food in the town. Hostel fee will be around 4k max per month. Quality of the food is medium. They are following menu based on which food will be provided everyday. Both Non veg and veg is available

Admission

Admission to CET is through entrance exam KEAM. For general category cutoff is around 500 to get CS branch here.For EWS,cutoff is around 1.2K . Keam is conducted as two papers .Paper1( Physics and Chemistry) & Paper 2 (Mathematics). Candidates who want to pursue engineering should attend both papers.

Placement Experience:

Students in 7th and 8th semester are eligible to sit for campus placements. Companies like Oracle, Goldman Sachs, L&T, Bajaj, Caterpillar and PSU's like BEL,HPCL and BPCL come to the college usually the coding companies offer aroung 35-40 LPA CTC and the core PSU companies offer around 17-18 LPA. Highest Package is 51 LPA and an Average Package of 12 LPA. Nearly 85% students from Circuit and CS branch get placed and around 60% in core branches who sit for placements, My plans after getting the degree is to join MBA to learn how business world works and how the money flows

Placement Experience:

Placement is average .top MNC except Google and Microsoft comes here.examppes are Infosys,TCS,Shobha construction etc.average package was 4 lpa some gotabove 10 lpa some students got more than one placement .no of offers made was about 300.from s6 onwards students become eligible for placement. Placement training is very good in the college.about 40 percentage got placement oncampus.highest package was 15 lpa.minimum package was 3 lpa.

Life at CET

This college is the best government college in Kerala. It has been consistently first in KIRF ranking. It has very cheap fees. The campus is very beautiful and spacious (about 200 acres). My best choice of colleges very IITs and NITs like most people. I couldn't crack JEE. I only applied to this college because I had very high ranking in KEAM exam and was confident of acceptance. KEAM exam is a lot easier to crack than JEE. It has basic higher secondary school syllabus. To get my course you would have to be around 700th rank. To get other courses in my college you can have rank as low as 20k....Read More
