Course Curriculum Overview

3

I choose honours because it gives better oportunity then program course. So Bcom hons from DU is good as there are a lot of practical subjects throughout every semester which gives us or actually improve our skills like tally, Income tax return, Power point, Excel, and many more. But i feel this can be improved by adding industrial visits or giving real time experience to students. So the semester exams happen every 6 months but the internal assesment which includes assignments, test, presentations, and attendance marks carry 25 marks so you have to be regular and study.

Internships Opportunities

2.5

The internship opportunities are there in the fields like HR, Marketing, Sales, Research and finance. They give stippend around 8-10 k per month. There are a lot of companies that provide internship, highest stippend which my friend got was 20k per month. she was working as HR and sales intern in stanza living.

Placement Experience

2

After 4 semester you can apply for the placements. The Placement is okayish not too good nor bad. Mostly HR profile companies visit the campus Deloitte is one of the major company that came on board and did recruit around 5-6 students and the salary they are getting is around 5 lakhs But the average package ia around 2.5-3.4 lakhs per annum. The placements are not so good so many of the students try to get job from outside only. The percentage of students that gets placed are around 40%. I will suggest to do PG or MBA after bcom so that you can get higher package. I am planning to do MBA after my degree.

Fees and Financial Aid

In My first year it was around 8000 then in second year it became 10000 and in 3 rd year it is now at 12000 so an increase is there every year. So they also charge an examination form fee every semester which vary from 400-500 rupees. They only provide financial aid to students who are not financially stable. There is a proper process to avail fee concession, they check the documents and may call you to college to verify the details. College has a placement cell that regulary give updates on interships or placements for 3 year students then it depends on skill of the student to crack the interviews

Campus Life

2

So, College society plays an important part in social life as you make new friends or even become more extrovert being a part of them. There are no such great fest in the college only one fest "Unnati" take place every year in the month of april but this only include competitions and not an artist night or performance. The library of the college is good has ac in it and books are quite easily available there and can issue them upto 14 days after that 1 rupee fine each day. The college is under renovation, infrastructure is now begin to improve, New smart classes with computere and smart screen are built, lifts and even new floors are also in progress. Sports are average as our college has no such big college teams but ya it provide a cricket ground and basketball court.

Admission

For pursuing bcom(hons) you should have mathematics as a subject in 12th grade. Delhi university conducts exam Cuet for entrance now but at my time it was through 12th percentage. Application fees is applied.

Placement Experience:

After completing 4 semester you are eligible to sit into on-campus placements i.e. after completing your second year. Companies start to arrive in final year or pre final year of you're going for 4 year degree. Big 4 companies like Deloitte, EY, KPMG, PWC and other companies like accenture, zomato, airtel can be seen in placement season. Average package is 4-5 LPA ranging from college to college and depends individual skill set and practical experience. Highest could go upto 22LPA in our college. Half of the students gets placed during the season but not all. After competition of degree students can pursue various courses like CA, CS or praper for CAT/GMAT.

Placement Experience:

The placement of my college is good if you perform well in the process of selection, as I told earlier, the placement cell is pretty active, so you would have a good number of options. I will be naming the good companies that visited my college, they were EY, Deloitte, DE SHAW, TCS, KPMG, etc. Numerous offers were made and I would say over 80% students in my batch got placed in good companies.
