Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

I have studied electrical and electronics engineering in NITK. Overall the curriculum is pretty good. You will have various labs where you will get practical experience and the college also provides internship and placement opportunities at the end. All the teachers are well. the teaching method is good. students and teachers ratio is 120:6.

Placement Experience

3.5

Placements are generally good. But this year due to recession and all the placements have fallen quite a bit. Many big companies like Oracle, Tata, has visited and nearly 75% got placed till now whereas last year it was 90%. lower package in my college 4.8 LPA and highest package in college is 8lpa.

Fees and Financial Aid

The tution fee is nearly 75000 for odd semester and 60000 for even semester if one is OC. Reservation candidates get fee concession and if one's income is less than 3LPA they ll also get fee concession.

Campus Life

4.5

The campus life is simply amazing. There are many fests happening through out the year both technical and cultural fests. Incident is the biggest fest of the college. It is unofficially the second largest fest in India. College life is good in NITK.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

Hostel facilities are also pretty good. One might not like the meals if they are from other states as here they won't eat much spicy foods. 1st years will be given 4 sharing rooms, 2nd years will be given 2 sharing and 3rd and 4th years are given single rooms when it comes to boys. For girls even for 3rd year they ll have 2 sharing

Admission

In my college Admission process is very easy. no need to any imrovements in admission process. For getting admission one should qualify jee mains examination which will be held every year and according to the rank you get you will be allotted in any department. The fees for jee mains varies if one has reservations. It will be held twice every year.

Placement Experience:

The institute records an impressive average package of ~INR 7.20 LPA and the highest packages reaching up to INR 53.50 LPA. The college actively drives employability through a dedicated 'Talent Transformation Hub'. Campus Placements Overview CIT is known for its solid industry connections, resulting in 80–90% placement rates annually. Top Recruiters: Companies like Accenture, Infosys, HP, Amazon, and Samsung. The Process: The placement cell conducts specialized skill-building boot camps and provides structured mentorship to ensure students are corporate-ready by graduation. If Placements Fall Short: Employability & Alternative Plans Even though CIT consistently places the vast majority of its batch, students who do not secure on-campus job offers (or wish to pursue other paths) have robust support through: Startup & Entrepreneurial Initiatives: CIT has an active E-Cell and a business connection to help budding founders. The Talent Transformation Hub focuses on practical knowledge needed to start a business. Higher Education: Students frequently leverage the college's alumni network and faculty mentorship to prepare for competitive exams like GATE, or to apply for Master's programs (MS, M.Tech) in India or abroad. Off-Campus Drives & Internships: Students are encouraged to undertake industry internships and live projects to build their portfolios, making it easier to land off-campus roles at top tech companies.

This is the best part. The whole point of niat program is to get a study for the job. It's not like the old system where you chill for 3 years and panic in the 4th year. All the learning here are very different. From the first day itself we will be doing coding.
