Likes
- I really like the campus it's very peaceful and Lovely. The view from my hostel is full of greenery. I love it.
- I mostly enjoy a lot in laboratory and library. There's a lot to learn. It is great.
- The teachers are very supportive and nice. Except some teachers who are very rude.
Dislikes
- Some teachers are very rude and are always shouting. They don't listen to students at all.
- Only sports club is mostly active. And other clubs are dominated by Bengalis and they speak only Bengali. Us outsiders are not able to understand anything sometimes.
Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum is overall good of this college. I can't talk about the theory classes but their lab classes are quite good and you will learn a lot. I am currently in second semester and the syllabus of my first semester was also very good. The exams are also not very tough. You just need to solve past year question papers and you'll score good enough.
Placement Experience
Since I am a fresher again I don't know a lot . But there have been placements in our college and were average. Mostly TCS comes to our college for campus placements. This year due to recession there were not a lot of companies came but still students got placed.
Fees and Financial Aid
Since I'm a fresher so I wouldn't know a lot about this so I'm sorry. But the tution fee is quite on an average level. It's affordable. It becomes expensive when it comes to hostel fee. Also I'm afraid I have very least idea about scholarships. But I do know that it offers scholarships for students living in Bengal and there's tution fee waiver for them too. I think my total cost would be around 8 lakh including hostel and tution fee etc.
Campus Life
The campus is overall good. Sports club is the most active club here. But this college doesn't hold any fest for students which is not good. We are not able to get any refreshments. It's just study and study. The library is very good and there are a lot of books there to help you. E Library is also available. Classrooms are like average. Pretty decent I would say.
Hostel Facilities
I have taken the hostel which is in the college campus and it's pretty on an expensive side. The rooms are good but there's no washing machine and other facilities for students. Also the food is average too. Sometimes the food is also very bad and students prefer to eat outside mostly. The mess is also run by the students and not college. I think they charge too much but zero facilities. We are always facing trouble in our washroom, switch board etc.
Admission
I got into this college through Wbjee exam and it is available on the website. A person should be atleast 12th pass for this exam. I wasn't a resident of Bengal so I didn't get any reservation. The exam was not so difficult. It has a separate maths paper and then physics and chemistry combined. Both papers are of 2 2 hours. the cutoff depends on the type of college you're wanting to admission in. As of this college I am in the cutoff is somewhat high. The only thing I didn't like is management quota which seems unfair to me.
