My experince at NIT rourkela has enriching.
The infrastucture has morden and well maintenid ,providing a conductive learning enviroment.

Dislikes

The workload could be overhelming at times, leading to stess and fatigue.
Tthere are occasional issues with faculities and amenities,such as maintenaces issue in hostal.

Course Curriculum Overview

I rate the Chemical enginereerng curriculum 10 /10 for its relevance and comprehensive, staying updated with latest development. The curriculum prepares us well for real-world application by case studies, research, events and live projects.

Class Size: 10Course Fees: INR 113684 per year

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions

The tuition fee for my programme is 56842 per semester. The university has a policy of increasing the tuition fee by some years gap. The university has offered several scholarships that cover all the tuition fees. I am a PhD Student; my stipend is 42000/- per month.

Campus Life

Campus life is vibrant and diverse. The numerous events and activities provide opportunities for social interaction and community building. The campus infrastructure is excellent, with state-of-the-art facilities for academics, research, sports and recreation.

Admission

The Eligibility for the program in chemical engineering was a master's degree in the a relevant field with min GPA The application form has available on the university's official website. the application fee has 500/- and application form availble from march I had a personal interview with the entire faculty panel.

Interview Experience

I had done personal interview with all the faculty member panel. The question was asked from my m. tech project, previous job related, then the faculty member asked about my research area interest, and they gave me a chance to choose favourite subject.

Placement Experience:

There were very less Ph.D. students who went for corporate jobs after completing the course. Most of them opted to work in research facilities government institutions. The highest CTC of the placement week, in general, went to Rs. 56 LPA. Both domestic and international companies participated in this week. Some of them were Goldman Sachs, GE India, Amazon, Honeywell, Adobe, Vedanta, GAIL, CDAC, TRAI, REC, and Tata Steel.

Placement Experience:

For the Ph.D. student, there is not any campus selection. After completion of Ph.D. course, I will join the college for teaching purposes. If I will write or published 2 or 3 national papers during my PhD then it will be very helpful for my future plan.

Admission:

You have to crack IIT-JEE for B.tech ,IIT-JAM fpr M.SC , Gate for M.Tech and P.hd and NET-JRF exam for P.hd after a valid scorecard you can get admission in this institute. For B.tech you have to do seat allocation online.

Insights, intents and incentives

I chose NITR after applying to all NITs focusing on NIT suratkal with the branch of electrical in focus. My rank in jee mains was 11169 CRL and in advanced was 25000. I got NIT Rourkela EI in round 1 of JOSAA counselling and got EE in round 2. I waited for upgradation of my choice to NIT K EE according to HS quota and previous trends but missed it by 200 ranks....Read More
