Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

I chose this course because I was interested in this since class 12th. The curriculum prepares us for the outside world by giving multiple opportunities. According to me the areas for improvements in the course curriculum and teaching methods could be 1. The teachers must use chalk board method more than just presenting the ppts. 2. The number of projectors in theory classes must be increased. 3. The syllabus should be more practical oriented. 4. The materials in the labs must be checked and renewed from time to time. The exams are held semester wise and only the exams take more than a month that must be reduced. The difficulty level is normal most of the times though it will be better if the timing gets increased.

Fees and Financial Aid

My tuition fee is around ?20,000 per year. The hike in fee is around ?2,000 per year. This fee is fine for someone who is resident of Delhi but for the non-residenals of Delhi need to pay around ?12,000-15,000 per month in PG or Hostel.

Campus Life

4

The social life here is Excellent. The annual fest NEXUS is famous in all colleges. Even the students from other colleges do attend our annual fest. Apart from that there are many clubs in which students can apply for based on their personal interests. The library here is Excellent. Even if you can't find any book in the library you can find it on Elibrary. Most of the classes are provided with projectors. The extracurricular activities are the daily happenings here. Sports also is promoted here at a good scale. Recently the women's cricket team of our college won against the IIT Kanpur. Overall the campus life here is very good.

Admission

The eligibility for my course was 12th passed with biology. I got the Admission through CUET. It is a computer based exam. The form for this generally comes in the months of January to March. Application fee for general category was ?1200. I didn't got under any reservation category. The exam is held in online mode once in a year in different slots ranging from 8 in the morning to 5 in the evening. The questions were not too difficult however the given time for Physics and Maths were less. The best way for improvement is in the counselling process. The student needs to be vigilant while filling the college and course list as it is often observed that students do not get their preferred course or college due to sheer negligence in the counselling process.

Highest package of Hindu College is 36.5 LPA and the average package is 11.4 LPA. Hindu College has a high placement rate of 95% of eligible students securing a placement here. My plan is to prepare for UPSC or SSC-CGL after my degree.
