- The hostel mess and cafeteria food is pretty bad
- No good oppurtunities for other department students
- Cultural events are not good and they conduct it in very low frequency
Course Curriculum Overview
My course is computer science and engineering with specialization in Artificial intelligence. I opted for this course , because artificial intelligence is an emerging sector in the software industry, I was so interested and the job opportunities are improving on this sector. The college has a pretty average set of teachers. The syllabus for 2nd years and 1st year students are almost similar with computer science and engineering. But we do have a subject called mathematics for artificial intelligence which is not present in the curriculum of computer science and engineering students
Internships Opportunities
Till now for me , no internship was offered. but once a paid internship from ict academy was offered. it cost 2500 and didnt have any stipend. but its been heard that the seniors has got internships in thrissur with a stipend of 4000 per month
Placement Experience
from semester 4 , they have started to train students to attain better placement . from semester 8 , students can attent placement. most of the companies were marketing , call centres. one of the company was sutherland. alot of students got placed in that company. but was not a tech related job and the salary was very low. not sure of the number of companies. but the tech companies visits for computer science department students. they have this aptitude test, coding test, and if you pass in all of this you will be eligible for interview. the highest package of last year was 8 lakhs per annum. the average is 3.5 lakhs per annum. only less number of students gets placed as there exist recession , that is expected to end on 2026. my plan after getting a degree is apply directly to a company as a fresher
Fees and Financial Aid
The tution fee for management students in my course is 124000 rupees per year . But if you get the seat allotted to you by merit then you will only have to pay 65000 per year as tution fee. There exists bus fee of 12000 as I'm 25KM away from college. The other fees include KTU sports fee of 500 rupees
Campus Life
Vipanchika is the name of annual tech fest . But campus life was not satisfactory that , they decided not to conduct tech fest or any other annual fest for the last 2 years . There exists sport club, arts club , literally club. A Google developers students club and Tinkerhub is also present in the college. The campus is not vast and doesn't have any interesting places apart from the garden. As all the programs like jam sessions are conducted after the college time. Day scholars are not able to attend this
Admission
You are supposed to have more thane 75% marks in class 12. I applied through the official website of the college. KEAM AND JEE , any of this exam should be passed. I had 144 marks in KEAM , and so my application got approved. They had told me to pay the 1st year fees , as soon as possible. Else they will give my seat to some other student. I found that a drawback in the admission process
