LISSAH COLLEGE, KAITHAPOYIL ; AN OVERVIEW

The Calicut University syllabus has been followed by the college. The course curriculum is very beneficial for our higher studies too. A psychology degree aids a great exposure to the world of mental health and various human behaviors. The exams appear in every 5-6 months. If the course is a bit more practical knowledge oriented it would be even beneficial.

The fee is 11250 per semester as per the university rule. There are a total of 6 semesters. The college will collect a sum amount during the admission for the maintenance of college, programs,library facilities, lab facilities etc.The college is providing two major scholarships. The details about the scholarship are discussed in the college website.The college is also providing various rewrds to motivate the students.

The college will actively conduct arts , sports , union day,college day including various special events like onam , holi etc. The college have a huge library with over 10000 books also it provides the students "enlist" an e library facility. We have ICTenables classrooms, wifi connection lab facilities. The college guve importance to arts and sports and other cultural events along with the academics. The college have various clubs and forums including NSS, women's cell, nature club, literature club, department organisation, counselling cell , entrepreneurship club etc.

Each room accommodates 2-3 students.The hostel is furnished enough for the students to peacefully organize their life. They provide 4 meals per day including the evening tea. Both vegetarian and non vegetarian melas are provided. The hostel facilities can be attatimed by simply registering there along with our parents.

The application has to be given at the university level. Higher secondary marks are the criteria. Applicants having marks higher than 85%in the higher secondary exams are accepted. When the Calicut University announces admission, we should apply and choose the course of our choice. Reservations are there for the Christian community, obc, etc. The exams are conducted in a centralized way as per the university schedule. Each Semester exam will be conducted for six months.

There was a casual interview with the director, principal and HoD of our department.The admission is mainly on the basis of higher secondary marks . The interview board was very friendly and polite.They are mainly assessing the communication skill of the applicant
