Course Curriculum Overview

4

I chose Information Technology as it is a core branch. I was not convinced by the specializations in the CS branch and wanted a core branch. The curriculum is great and being an autonomous college gives it a freedom to explore new domains. The curriculum from the start of the first year itself is great and gives you a taste of how things work in the real world. Also, many subjects are introduced in the first year itself for self-development and placement-related training, etc. One area in which the curriculum can be improved is the fact that option to choose a subject like physics or chemistry for students who are genuinely interested in them and want to learn that in the first year at least. There are two exams per semester. One is the mid-sem exam and the second is the end-sem examination. The major focus of the institute is on the projects and viva and thus that is taken more seriously than written examinations.

Internships Opportunities

3

Many renowned companies such as Payal, etc offer internships at our college. The highest stipend is 75000 rupees per month. At the same time, the average stipend that is received in internships is 12000 rupees per month. In sem 7/8 internship is mandatory, also faculty encourages SY and TY students to take up internships in their semester breaks.

Fees and Financial Aid

The total fee of the college is 1.93 lakhs for a general student. The tuition fee is 1.62 lakhs. The fees vary according to which category you belong. There are a lot of scholarships, especially for girls. Also, many scholarships are available for children from OBC, SC, and ST. Unfortunately, there is nothing for general boys.

Campus Life

4

The campus is good. It is 10 acres and has 5-6 cafes, including the newly opened KIOSKs cafe inside the campus. One downside is that it has only one playground and the sports facility is not at par but works. There is an annual technical event known as VishwaTech Spectra and then a Technical cum Cultural Fest known as Vishwakarandak (Inter Departmental). VishwaTech Spectra is usually held in October and the Vishwalarandak which is the main Fest of the college is held in March. There are plenty of books in the library which you can borrow and read and new books are provided regularly. You can also go to the reading hall where you can sit and read and do your work. Sports facilities are not so good as the campus is small and has only one ground, but the extracurricular activities excluding sports are great. Great exposure for artists and many versatile clubs and student-run social groups are there for this kind of activity. One must actively participate and be willing to experience this

Admission

The admission process to Vishwakarma Institute of Technology was basically through MHT-CET examination conducted majorly on the State level(Maharasthra). Although people can get into this Institute also on the basis of JEE still they need to appear for MHT-CET. The application form for MHT-CET starts after January almost at the time of the first attempt of JEE Main and closes in March. The exam is usually held in April or in May after the second attempt of JEE Mains. The exam is conducted in 1-2 weeks with 2 shifts (morning and evening). The difficulty level of the examination is lower than that of JEE Mains so if you prepared for Mains then you will easily score good marks in MHT-CET, said so the 2023 paper was a little bit on the difficult side, especially Maths, and was time-consuming. Well, many found the questions to be PYQs of JEE Mains, so practice that.

Other Applied Colleges

Vellore Institute of Technology - [VIT University] | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Computer Science and Engineering)

VIT Pune is better in terms of curriculum and placement i believe, as compared to vellore and plus VIT Vellore is very crowded.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Soo ever since kid i was interested in bikes this interest was all for me to take this course , my father is very bike enthusiast and it came down to me , i could easily take mechanical and other engineering cause these are common courses which involves automobile , but since i wanted to follow my passion , i wanted to do specialization in automobile itself and DPCOE was offering this course with great facilities and knowledge providing us a path in this lane of career in this field. According to me curriculum prepares us quite well as they conduct workshop which are relevant to outside world where we'll be working. If there were more practical workshops for us to work on would be great cause automobile engineering is all about practicals rather than theoroticals Professor should try teaching in physical part rather than taking lectures and explaining the concept by just words

Yes there is placement cell of STES which is no different than other tier 3 engineering colleges offering a tier 3 average package depending on who is the recruiter. Students become eligible for campus from 3rd year of their degree. Highest package is something around 55 lakhs offered to a computer engineering student, and average is just like I said for a tier 3 college 5-6 lakhs(above or below). Almost everyone gets placed in the company but some might not.
