Course Curriculum Overview

4

I mainly chose this course as I have a keen interest in the engineering field. As we talk about the curriculum its not that much complicated but there is a lot to cover and study in a short period of time. Also It is not that much friendly to the present real-world applications, is a major drawback of the curriculum.we should also try to study extra courses from external sources for improving our skills. the frequency and timing of exams are also not much comfortable as there is 3 set of examinations in a period of about 5-6 months of duration.A good side is that the exams are not that much difficult to crack.

Internships Opportunities

3

In case of internship, I am not that much happy as the college is not taking much effort to provide good internships for their students. we mainly do internships buy paying money to private companies and in my opinion it is not a good option.

Placement Experience

3

Students become eligible for campus placements from there 3rd year of course. In 2022 they have a total of 780 offers and about 450 students were placed.Main companies include Cognizant,TCS, tUST global etc. The highest package was 33.34 lpa by virtusa and the average package is about 4-5 lpa.As we check the past placement details about 60-75% students are placed in every year by campus placements. My plan is to secure a descent lpa placement after my degree,if it is not achieved then I will go for my masters.

Fees and Financial Aid

As I am a regular admitted student on the basis of keam entrance score,my fees is about 10000 rupees per semester as tuition fees and 3000 rupees for exam registration. Also around 2000-3000 rupees are charged per year as additional facilities fees. Many scholarships are available for the students both from government and from the college itself.some of them include E grantz, pragiti, PMSS, college alumni scholarships etc.

Campus Life

3.5

the college mainly have two fests, one technical fest named 'THAKSHAK' conducting in every odd sem and cultural fest named 'SANSKRITI' at every even sem.College possess a huge library with around 78000 volumes of text books which is available for all the students at free of charge. the classrooms are well equipped with smart boards and projectors. The faculties are also highly qualified professors graduated from esteemed institutions. The sports and other extracurricular activities are not that much strong in this college.

Admission

The minimum eligibility for the course is 12th pass. My college is a government-aided, self-financing college under APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University (KTU) and the admission for B-tech courses in the college is mainly through KEAM score and management quota admission.KEAM stands for Kerala Engineering, Architecture and Medical Entrance exam conducted by the government of Kerala. All the colleges under KTU use this KEAM exam score for their admissions. KEAM is conducted once in every year. The exam is not that much tough to pass and mainly includes the Physics,Chemistry and Maths syllabuses of 11th and 12th standards. If you are an above average student, then it is not a hectic task for you to pass with a descent score. Also the final score of KEAM is calculated on the basis of your 12th marks and the entrance exam mark.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is the worst. Teachers rush through the portions so that they can finish at the earliest. It may be because the university has a unjustifiable timetable. There is very little practicals given. The ones that are given are just for namesake.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum is under KTU syllubus do it's fine. There is a change in curriculum coming 2024 which i assume would make a lot of good changes. The curriculum gives you a head start For most of your work, you need to on your own but the faculty is there to help. The frequency of exams is weekly tests + monthly exams. Its not too difficult of an exam.

Currently placements are bit low, due to inflation, but compared to other colleges like KMEA, etc we have better placements similar to Muthoot and all. We have placement training, and other supports which can help us crack aptitude exams and prepare for placements Almost 70-80% students are placed every year, with an avg package of 4LPA

Placement Experience:

The students usually start appearing for campus placements in their 6th semester. The training for the campus placements is started for all the students from the 4th semester. Many companies visited for campus placements. But one main problem is that most of them were low packages. Around 4LPA. Some were between 4-6 and a very few between 6-10. Most of them got placed in our batch in some company.
