Campus Life

4.5

infrastructure is top notch and also several new building is under construction part of campus expansion starting with fest in 1. NOV- innovision (technical fest), 2. NOV (1st week just after the innovision) - virdhi (sports fest) 3. JAN (2nd week)-cosmopolitan (multi etnic fest) 4. FEB (2nd week)- nitrustav (literary and cultural fest) library is vast you get access to 80k books classroom is well equipped ( projector and speakers) can vary from seating capacity 30-130 their are several clubs in NITRKL varing from dance ,music, sports, literary club , social club, photography, it impact students in sevrals ways to enhance interaction with other branch students fellow senoirs . campus life is strict for 1st year only you can't step out from hostel afer 8:00PM both girls and boys

Hostel Facilities

3.5

for males 2 person in single room , for feamle 3-4 person in single room depending on your hostel i live in " ground floor" and internet and network sucks for calling you need to step out of room inside room barely mobile network. LAN cable speed is okay for my point of view not up to mark (below average). registration process is easy you just need to scan google forms and submit it on the day of reporting. melas are okay+ sometimes you can get very nice meals and sometimes just okay to keep your belly fill foods are (6.5/10)

Admission

so i'm in BTECH 4 YRS course of bio-technology consider about eligiblity you need PCM in 12th but if you had/have BIOLOGY it would be very helpfull for this course becuse course related to bio tech make sense if you comes from bio background, NITRKL website is very flexible if you just type fee voucher, placement voucher it will directly download you pdf file. reservation benefits will avail from day one during admission if you comes from ST/SC background your tution fee is nil but you need to pay hostel and mess fees. exams are moderate, some time flexible some time hectic consider about my mid sem of 1st sem i got gaps of 1 day between 2 exams but mid sem of 2nd sem we had 4 exams (continous) without any gaps so i depends on luck or course coordinater admission takes place in hall which is easy and convinenient its busy and you may need to wait

Placement Experience:

the placement is also not that much great. they are very few companies TCS and Infosys are the mass recuriter here . The core companies are close to null . So you have to go to only to the IT companies that to at a very low package . My students work for as low as 2.5 lac per annum . This year almost everybody was between 3lac to 10lac bracket . The highest on campus package are about 25 lac . Not more than that most of time. and the average package is almost about 3-4 lac per annum . The percentage of the students placed is also really bad . Most of the students have to hurdle by himself.

I choose this course because at first I was interested to automobile engineering but I didn't got it from other college so I preffered this mechanical engineering. It is a very though course as it seems. And there was 1:7 for faculty and student ratio. Faculties were highly qualified and some did PhD and m. Tech and other are fresher. The teaching skill differ person to person. The thermodynamics faculty was very excellent. In every year there was 2 semester and it is a little difficult. And before semester there was internal and viva.

Padmanava College of engineering is coming under Biju Patnaik University of Technology (BPUT , odisha). As there is always a myth about private colleges that they help in cheating but from my experience padmanava College is strictly against cheating and rather it supports quality of education. If you are a hard working student you will pass the exam very easily.
