Course Curriculum Overview

4

The curriculum is strictly to related to improve the knowledge of the students. It aims at letting the students improve their knowledge about that particular field. Being a commerce student, I didn't face much difficulty as the staff and the curriculum takes consideration of all the children keeping in mind the eligibility as nill. I had to work a little harder than the cs students to be on the same place as they were. I've no complaints with the teaching methods as the teachers have always focused on the learning of the children. They have pushed us to understand and learn more by practice. My first term core papers were for 3 hours each and they were of medium difficulty level. If any student have studied for the papers for atleast a month or even a half they would be able to clear the paper. Although due to NEP we have to study other SEC VAC AEC and GE papers which are not adding to any development.

Internships Opportunities

2.5

Although I'm in 1st year but all ive heard internships is: In addition to the placements, the college received an overwhelming response from over 300 companies for internship opportunities and offered more than 80 job profiles to various students. The highest stipend offered was INR 80,000 LPA, whereas the average stipend stood at INR 20,000 per month.

Placement Experience

3.5

I'm currently in 1st year. Since I've not completed even my first year so I've had no experience on placements and internships but our college do offer placements. As per the latest report, the highest and gross package offered during placements 2022 stood at INR 25 LPA and INR 8.10 crore per annum. More than 167 offers were made and over 70 recruiters participated during SGTB Khalsa College placements 2022. Popular recruiters participated include Deloitte, EY, McKinsey & Company, etc. My plans after getting a degree is to complete my masters and then apply for a job.

Fees and Financial Aid

I've paid a total amount of 30,000 as my college fees for a semester. I've not availed any scholarships or financial aid do I'm not that sure about it but I know a few people around me who have used such opportunities. There is also a Sikh quota in our college (SGTB Khalsa). There are few available opportunities for getting fees reduced and the forms for such are to be collected from administration office.

Campus Life

5

There are a number of festivals in the college life from ethnic day to celebration of all the festivals. There are different celebrations on almost all the festivals. Stalls are put up, different societies have different functions on annual days too. And there are fests too. The fests are for either 2 or 3 days in all the colleges. All the books are available in the library for all the courses. The books are issued ro the students for a month and have to pay for extra number of days. The sports excel in our college a lot. There are sports quota too. All the sports have different teams of their own and have different tournaments of their own. The practice of the teams are held daily. There are a number of societies in our college from bhangra or western dance societies to debate societies or photography or ngo or art. These societies play a crucial role in development of a person on a whole.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

The rooms provided in our hostel are spacious. We've our own side table with a chair and a light over our table. We've our own almirah. The room is a three sharing. We've our own bathroom and balcony attached to the room. We've a dressing table too. The hostel provides its own laundry and electricity supply with geyser and AC. We get all 3 nutritious meals with snacks too throughout the day. The food involves all the nutritional level and food quality is also good. The meals includes veg as well as non veg. The meals includes eggs chicken and all other meals. For the hostel, I had to apply for it in the hostel only. I had to sent my mail and then the selection was done on the basis of our cutoffs.

Admission

I appeared for CUET(Common University Entrance Test) Examination 2023. I secured a result of 690 for economic hons and 666 for computer science hons after normalization. The cut off was not disclosed but I was assigned SGTB Khalsa college in my first cut-off list only. The eligibility for the course was nill but we had to be either a science student or a commerce student with mathematics. The application form for CUET can be found on the csas portal or the official website of DU. The forms were released after the board examinations. The tests are depending on the subjects you chose to appear for but we can only appear for the subjects we've studied in our 12th. Other papers except for general test are not taken into consideration. The papers are for 45 mins each. The difficulty level is medium id the student has studied in their boards they can easily clear the CUET papers.

Other Applied Colleges

Shri Ram College of Commerce - [SRCC] | Bachelor of Arts [BA] {Hons.} (Economics)

I thought that there will be better career opportunities in it department. I do have an interest in computer science more than economic honours

Course Curriculum Overview:

as been from the science background I have deep interest in maths already, and I want to continue my passion for it. The proves the critical thinking the imaginary parts and the applications of mathematics. We see every day it motivates to think about these theorems. The curriculum of course is very good, but due to NEP, we have to study subjects like Hindi in our AEC which is very irrelevant to the curriculum and waste our four hours weekly in mathematics, we mainly deal in proof and theorem. There are very less real word applications that are being taught here. There are various areas for improvement like we can adapt the course or the curriculum.in universities like IITs,Cambridge Oxford and other big universities so that the placement and internship percentage can get improved in our college

Course Curriculum Overview:

I was always interested course. It's relevant to the exams in that particular field. The syllabus for life and other exams in this field. I think that there is a lack of actual real life practice in basic courses. If could be made more aligned to what we do in real life it would have been better. The exams are easy enough to pass by just studying one month before exams and submitting the internal assessments properly. There are end semester exams which gives enough time to prepare well.

Course Curriculum Overview:

i believe CS hons is a decent course. The curriculum is however, very outdated. We are being taught several topics that have no relevance these days and they arent even taught properly. I believe a far better choice would be doing BTech instead since it has a better course and companies prefer that over BSc CS. In terms of preparing for the real world, i believe this course has no use since the most important parts we have to learn it ourselves. Exams are conducted once at the end of every semester (including practical and theory). However during the semesters, there are multiple tests taken to asses our knowledge regularly
