Course Curriculum Overview

The first thing that influenced me was the 350 acres campus but when I took the the admission most of it forest, the staff's are very friendly.The exam pattern is very worst comparing with Kerala Technical University

Class Size: 36Course Fees: INR 37000 per year

Internships Opportunities

First of all I'm in second year and haven't participated in internship to get experience.I have heard that some companies like Infosys came for campus placements.the collage has many clubs like IEEE,IEDC etc

Placement Experience

From third semester the students are eligible for campus placement.I have heard that the campus provides placement programs the main company is Infosys from technopark trivandrum.i don't know the accurate percentage of students getting placed

Fees and Financial Aid

The tusion fees almost 37000 and we have to pay 1200. Additional to the union for conducting programs.the collage doesn't provide hostel facility we have to stay in private hostels or private homestays it's around 6500 for 1 month

Campus Life

The campus is very big and awesome it's Kerala University's PG campus in Kariavattom,we have both collage festivals and campus festivals it's the only postive thing both collage and campus have huge library,The campus also have a ground but its not properly maintained

Hostel Facilities

The collage doesn't provide hostel facility we have to stay in private hostels or private house stays, facilities of the room depends on the hostels or pg the meal quality is very bad in Trivandrum.we can get hostel near to college

Hostel Fee: INR 6500 per year

Admission

The admission process was kinda good I have written KEAM entrance exam and got 39108th rank.my priority was government colleges, I have waited till the third allotment but only got electronics and communication in this college

Placement Experience:

we are eligible for placement from the 7th sem. Many famous and small compines vist our college. Infosys, WIPRO, TCS vist our college. But the big companies take only few student. Highest package was 1,00,000. And the average package is around 4,00,000. Almost all students gets placed from the campus .

My Experience at NIT Calicut

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate the EEE course curriculum around 8-8.5 /10 in terms of relevance.The curriculum provides strong fundamentals in core electrical engineering subjects and prepares students well for core jobs and higher studies.The course curriculum was revised in 2023, and our batch is the 1st batch under the new curriculum. however, there are still limited coding ,AI and data science subjects in EEE ,which could be improved. Exams are conducted times per semester and are generally moderately difficult.

Main companies visiting the campus are IBM , TCS ,TATA ELXSI,L&T, Cognizant,Toshiba,Vanenburg,Kalkitech,Sobha,Mrf ,Juspay,Dynolt and many more. 70 % students get placement Highest package is 16 lpa and average is 5 lpa After degree higher studies can be considered.

Placement Experience:

The placements here are quite good, but not great. Because only 50% of students in a class are getting placed. From S7 onwards the placements have been started for our department. But for other departments, from S8 only companies have arrived. For CSE department, many companies are coming which include Cognizant, SOTI, Mitsogo, EY, 6D Technologies, etc. Our senior batch students have placed at many companies in this. But comparing with other senior batches, the placements at our batch is really bad.

Is engineering here worth it?

I have taken this college as this college is situated on the heart of trivandrum. Also the fees is not much high compared to self financing colleges.
