Gayathri Ajay's Review On University Of Kerala, University College Of Engineering Kariavattom, Thiruvananthapuram

First of all there is a good name among the residents of trivandrum about this institition which was the reason I included this college for the allotment process. And i got chance to get my desired branch through allotment, so i joined this institute. I was also amazed by the photos of the kariavattom campus.

The faculties are quite good but not all of them. My college comes under Kerala university. There is no much industrial exposure. Suma miss of CS department is a good faculty. This institute is good for students who study well or else students can go weaker. No personal motivation from the faculties.

No internship programs are available from the side of the college for the last 2 years.

Placement and job offers are comparatively low. Only 20% of the students get placed. Few technopark companies visit the college like TCS etc. Faculties do not take care in case if placements and the placement cell is also not good.

The celebration is a main part of the college. The union takes care that every festival is celebrated. As our college is among the few which celebrate Halloween day. Onam X-mas, holi,deevali etc . many festivals are celebrated.

For management quota students there is no scholarships available. For merit quota students various government scholarships are available. No scholarship from the college as it is an aided government college.

Infrastructure is good for the computer science department. The library is also good and nice. A wifi facility is available. Sports is a matter only for boys in this college, there is no encouragement for girls in sports.

No hostel facility is available in my college. There is a hostel for post-graduate students on the campus. But engineering students have no such facility from the side of college, there are private hostels near the campus.
