Likes

i liked the enthusiasm of students towards any work here, positive environment and night's life
faculty is average for all the courses, some are very good to teaching and behaviour and here a cell called PIC cell it works for manage the placements maximum students got placed
infrastructure is also good if you talking about courses and college, you will get the best experience in iitr for both

Dislikes

here are some problem with rules like 75% rule of attendance which is not good though for college students
some faculty are not good towards it give grade to his courses and i don't like PIC cell give chance to company who provide less than 10 LPA in our college
infrastructure is also good but some courses have to be changed

i am in metallurgy it teachs us for metal, composite, etc's behaviors it helps space shuttle to use best materials. collab with ai and drdo and in our college we have 2 exams per semster and its good for students

no policy for fee increase but have chance for reduce fee by showing father income my tuition fee for 1 sem is 100000 with reservation, scholorships are mcm, JT, etc. we can intern in college and work in clubs for experience

let's start for my experience as students at IITs first of all you have two or three fest to enjoy in college like tech fest, cult fest and many others, which give you a further experience for your enjoy and involvement in that fest as a man who enjoy or organise the fest with different level of experience in working in clubs and also many sports fest you can enjoy here. for study you dont need to buy books for course subject because you got all book in college's library. facilities like heater in winter and ac for summer, projector for reading ppts and all . we have clubs for getting different experience like desgining, management, video editing,etc.

Admission

there are many step from JEE MAINS/ADVANCED to get registered in the college first step to got qualified in jee mains and then jee advanced. There is options for courses with bases of college rank first you can find the expected rank vs college and its branch at many website like collegedunia, jossa, etc., for applying for jee mains you can fill the form on website like sarkari result,etc. same for jee advanced after clearing the cutt-off you have to choose college at jossa counselling and submit your branch choices with colleges and after that you get a branch in college you choose in your coounselling then you have to come that college for admission process with you all certificates they mentioned in thier particular process. this is right for me as a students i am okay with that exams jee mains then jee advanced.

UPES is modern day university!

Placement Experience:

Since CSW students as in UPES School of Computer Science students are 1200+, I think 60 percent students do get placements. Now the criteria is that students get a strong bandwith in placements that it is not at all easy to become a part of placements as students carrying back in 3rd year are not allowed to appear for any job interview at the university.

UPES students have to be ready in the last year as both the semester placements activities keeps on having its toll. Also, a student qualified for a placement can only appear for the interview on the companies that are offering a 2x paycheck as otherwise once the placements are done means done at UPES.

UPES Dehradun has best infrastructure!

Placement Experience:

UPES has seen placements in range of 50 lakhs and more and that because of the stupendous tie-ups that our placement cell has seen. Our CSE entries batch size is of 1200 and out of which 600 were placed with an average salary of 18 lakhs and now one can debate if any other college in Uttarakhand apart from IIT Roorkee provide such placements.

Placement Experience:

The placement is also good here as companies come here every year. The highest package here is 1.03 cr which happened in 2013 or so.Almost 60 to 70 percent students get placed here. As of my plans I want to get a package of around 40 to 50 lakhs per annum

IIT Roorkee - The complete story

Placement Experience:

Being an IIT, the campus placements are pretty good. Over 90% of the batch gets placed, with a median of 20LPA. All major tech, financial and management companies come for placements. Highest package generally goes up to 2 crores each year, though this is an international offer. The highest domestic package is around 80LPA. These offers are generally for the quant offered by HFTs (High frequency trading), which refers to quantitative analysis in stock trading. The placement season is in first sem of 4th year, and if you have a good resume with 8+ CGPA, you are all set to go. I plan on sitting for AI-ML placements.

The feeling of being in IIT Roorkee

I didnt applied for any other colleges other than some iits which were iit bombay, kanpur, roorkee, guwahati. Just these four and nothing because i got a decent rank in JEE Adv 2025. IIT ROORKEE - A SCRUPULOUS REVIEW

I took part in jossa councelling and got it . I was happy with any of seven old iits . In better way , i would be happy in going any top iit. Moreover i choose it because of it's weather and location. Rest all things are similar to all top iits. Nothing is less in iit roorkee. You have to give jee main then jee advanced. IIT Roorkee - The complete story

I had 4 main options in hand after JEE - BSc Physics in IISC Bangalore (I had cleared KVPY), Electrical engineering in IIT Indore, EPH in IIT Roorkee, and Computer Science in Nit Trichy. I did not choose IISC, as I wasnt sure whether I wanted my career to be in research. My coaching faculties advised me not to take an NIT when I was getting a top 7 IIT. It was a tough choice choosing between EE in IITI, and EPH in IITR. However, at the end, I choose Roorkee because of its legacy, better facilities, and a calmer environment.
