KIIT Review

The practical knowledge in this stream as well as the institute's ability to provide the same attracted me as a student to had the better if the course. Some faculty were really superb and hardworking whereas some were not doing justice to their positions at my time. The College took 2 types of exams every semester. There is mid sem exams and end sem exams. Apart from that 3 quizzes and 4 assignments per subject. The difficulty level for these exams keeps getting higher as you progress to the final year.

Some internship is provided through college for that you will have to be in touch with faculties and get some project under them. I did a project under a senior faculty about the friction stir welding in a group of 5 members.

Students starts getting placements while being in final year. The placement of the college is really good.Top MNCs visit the college for hiring. Huge salary placements also come like 12lpa to 16lpa. The College is known for 100% placements. I am currently working in cognizant with a salary of 4.5lpa.

I remember before my admission and after my admission there was a constant hike of 5000 difference but after one or two years it seemed to stop hiking. My education included 2 lacs per year for the tuition fee. It was costly but given the practical equipments present there, and the kind of practical knowledge I got from there, it was worth it. I got a job at cognizant from the campus placement, 4.5lpa job with 6 months of training which included rent allowance, provident fund and health insurance as well.

KIIT fest is famous to most of the people in Orissa.Kiit is known for its extra curricular opportunities. There are different societies in which you can be a part of, take responsibilities and work on yourself through that. Throughout the course period you get access to Coursera so that you can do any course of your like on the sidelines. Libraries have the most latest editions of the books that you would want to gain knowledge from. Apart from that even when your course is completed you stay connected with the alumni group.

There are 2 types of hostel provided by the college - AC and non AC. For non AC it was 25000 per year whereas 40k for AC. Mess is included, and the food is good. You get non veg food 3 days and veg as well on those days if you're a pure vegetarian. There are a lot of PGs as well nearby you can check with nearby people.

I gave an exam called KIITEE. And got a rank near 4000. If you're getting a rank under 10000 then you can sit in the counseling of the college. Other criteria are 60+% overall and 60+% PCM. There is reservation benefits as well for different category students. You can find the details for the exam and college in the official KIIT link The exam takes place every year and it's not that difficult, if you have gone with all the 11th and 12th chapters thoroughly you can do well in this exam. Admission process is very smooth and something that impresses a lot of students.
