Course Curriculum Overview

Mbbs is a great profession. You will have 3 internals and then University exams at the end of the year. The course is so good. All the exams including the practicals are moderate to easy. You need to study everyday for 1 or 2 hours

Internships Opportunities

After a course of 4.5 years you can do rotatory internship in the college only for 1 year where you will earn around 25k per month. You have to assist the jrds and srds and professors in the OPD and the ward. It's a little bit of hectic work but you will love as a part of the doctors job

Placement Experience

After internship you can work in neigrihms only or you can apply outside neigrihms or you can apply for post graduation. Salary is decent everywhere for a MBBS graduate. A intern is earning around 20000 per month and a junior resident( mbbs) can earn upto 60k per month while a senior resident (post graduation) can earn upto 100000 per month

Fees and Financial Aid

1st year fees is 48000 including the hostel, electricity and all other bills except mess fees. It also includes 20000 security deposit that you will get at the end of the course. Then the fees is 16600 for the subsequent years including the electricity and everything except mess fess. Mess fees is 120 rs per day including breakfast lunch dinner and evening snacks

Campus Life

The infrastructure of NEIGRIHMS is very good. It includes a super speciality hospital with 24 hours emergency ward and OPD. It also includes a public utility area comprising of swimming pool indoor sports and a gym. It also have a indorr stadium. Anand includes a tennis court, badminton court. It have 9 hostels and staff quarters all in a very beautiful hilly place

Admission

This is a very good college for MBBS. Cut off for all india quota is around 610 which vary every year. You have to give neet to apply for this college. Admission procedure is very smooth. You have to report at the college after allotment and then perform a medical checkup free of cost. 1st year fees is 48000 and then 16600 for subsequent years including the hostel fees. Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculums include theory and clinics. Theory is done in the morning and clinics in the noon and practical in the afternoon. This curriculum is quite good to prepare us to become a good doctor, both in studies and in clinical practice. As the world is evolving in terms of technology, I believe there must be a more innovative way of teaching making use of all the technologies available for teaching such as PowerPoint, 3d models (real and virtual), etc. There must also be proper ventilation, cooling system, etc to help the students cope up with the weather of the college. There are 4 exams in a year which to me are too much. Besides the NEET PG exam will be MCQs so what is the point of doing objective questions and answers.

Neigrihms is a central college, its in line just after AIIMS and JIPMER alike colleges, its one the biggest and most advanced health research institute with great facilities for students and faculties to interact.Another thing that made me chose this college was the student teacher ratio. Each batch has 50 number of students.This ensures better learning and teachers could give proper attention to each and every student . Regular semester exams r undertaken which help us to go through our syllabus properly. And teachers here r very student friendly and approachable. And in this college u get more clinical exposure than any other college in north east!!

I chose medicine because I love helping others. There is enough faculty for 50 students, the number of seats is likely to increase soon in the coming years. Each student is known by face and name to the teachers and so interaction is very social and good. Every semester has its exam and it was easy to pass if you are attentive in class.

Admission:

Admissions for MBBS course is via NEET UG examination. Students also must have studied Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English in their higher secondary education. In general the cut off is set at 96.67% in NEET. After counseling i got admission in this college.

Remarks:

Fee structure,basic infrastructure, college administration all are best as compared to any medical college. Teaching and labs are good. There is no negative remark about this college, it's excellent in all the criteria for an ideal college.

Eligibility of the course was quite fair. It was based on NEET-UG result and quota. Application form, fees and dates were all available on the college website which could be easily looked upon. As mentioned there was a reservation benefit in terms of quota seats (for example, Northeast quota, all india quota, mizoram quota, nagaland quota, etc.) There are 4 exams total (2 internal exam, 1 pre-university, 1 professional/university exam). The exams are quite fair, and challenging. But unlike other colleges, the gap between two papers is too less. There is no gap between two papers of the same subject, and there is only one day gap between two subjects. The gaps should have been increased for better performance in the exam. To improve the admission process, there must be guides who will help the new students to do the admission process with ease and to avoid silly mistakes that occurs when students do alone by themselves....Read More
