View, it is beautiful to look and campus is eyepleasing.
It is close to the tricity, Chandigarh and shimla.
My friends which I made in the university.

Dislikes

Faculty, is not upto the mark. They really need better teachers.
Overcrowdedness, there are too many students.
Competition, bottle necking the infrastructure, these people would give admission to everyone bringing in money.

Course Curriculum Overview

Not a particular reason but yes, I heard about the university and also its fee was leasser than most of other private colleges. Some improvement in faculty im terms of teacher appointment is required. Most of our teachers are having very limited knowledge about the subjects they are teaching.

Placement Experience

As I heard from most of my seniors, the placement opportunity is provided but, again the concept of over crowdedness and very high competition comes into play resulting in placements of a particular percentage of students. Reason for their higher stats of placements is just because of the number of total students they have admitted.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fee, I would say is quite too much and not affordable for middle class without scholarship. Scholarship is provided on the basis of CUCAT exam or JEE rank. However students who are in University teams i.e. sports or cultural are provided aid in their fee.

Campus Life

Campus is heavily over crowded. Too much students. They are increasing the seat count each year. More and more admissions are taken in. This results in increased competition and ultimately more students are not able to get a job.

Hostel Facilities

Hostel is quite better, as the living environment is good. But, still in summers we are facing issues like the cooler duct is not sufficiemt to maintain a comfortable temperature. Rooms are conjusted. Lastly, mess food is literally nutritionless, especially at dinner time.

Hostel Fee: INR 100000 per year

Admission

Admission do not require any mandatory test qualification. But, to avail scholarship we had to give an online exam called CUCAT. It is of approx. 3hrs and subjects and syllabus is from 11th and 12th class.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum changes as per the need of the industry norms so that student can attain knowledge about the basics as well as the niche technologies.This is the aspect to choose the course and the lab work and continuous competitions help us with the industry trends. The management could be improved. The frequency of exams help us learn well and difficulty is between easy to medium.

Chandigarh University: Is it worth the investment?

Placement Experience:

The student become eligible for campus placements from 5th semester. The companies visited per year are approximately 200. They claim 100% placements but in reality they divide students into placement and non- placement batches called tpp and ntpp. If you slip up even once, you will be debarred from the tpp group. The highest package is 53 LPA. The average package is 4.5 LPA. Companies like JP Morgan, TCS, Capgemini, PlaySimple, Cognizant, Nokia, Philips, Morgan Stanley, PWC, KPMG, EPAM, Watchguard, High radius, OYO, Coding Ninjas, Samsung, etc have already came. More companies are yet to come. Since the student intake is too much, placements are really hard to get since there is too much competition. In the end, people get hired in mass recruitment companies and get minimum pay of 3-4 lpa. My plans are apply for off-campus jobs and start working in corporate after the degree. If I don't get a job, I haven't decided what I will do next.

Placement Experience:

Placements are good but I am more looking towards offcampus placements. I will do internships from my second year and in first year I'll make the base. I contacted to some of the seniors they said doing hardwork will definitely lead to a good package.

Placement Experience:

After 4 semester students are eligible for sitting in placements. There are alot of company visiting and alot of them take 2-3 with really good package and some handful with good enough packages of nearly10 lpa and the highest package was i think of in last month was of around 60 lpa . My plans after getting a degree is too work my way through companies to a FAANG Companies

From the second year itself students are eligible for campus placements and the companies right now visited are more than 80 + like Amazon Google Microsoft etc the highest package right now in our college 2.5 crore right now as a fresher more than 80% are getting placements which I can I can see and many used to start they own startups and get success in their field as help you teachers them and give them opportunity to learn and do startups and my plan after getting a degree is if you get a placement and huge packages and get a experience from them and to start my own business

My imperfectly perfect College life reviewed for everyone who needs it

Placement Experience:

Though when I got admission in this college, I saw the placement rates were very nice, around 95%, but maybe it was our session's fault. I passed out in 2024, and in that particular year, the placements were not as expected and as seen in the previous batch, so that was something very much disappointing because I paid so much money on a degree, only everything was good about the college, but in the end, placement matters during my session. Usually, the companies that hired for example, 10 students only hired two students.

Chandigarh University: Is it worth the investment?

I didn't apply to any other college. I chose it because it was close to my home. The admission process to give CUCAT exam for which the fees is 1000 rupees. The passing marks are 40 out of 100.
