What Students Say

Likes

There a lot of amazing and colorful events.
There are parks in the university campus everywhere.
There a lot if food restaurants around and in the campus.

Dislikes

The mess food is very bad and the quality has degraded.
The Nekchand hostels are very small and the toets are very bad.
The lift facilities in the hostels is very bad abd the lifts are very dangerous.

Course Curriculum Overview

The university teaches a lot of different subjects besides the basic and core subjects like Disruptive Technologies, communication skills and aptitude classes for future help during placement time examination.

Class Size: 50Course Fees: INR 120000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees here is very nominal and reasonable. It costs 1,20,000 for 1 semester. And another 1,20,000 pee year if you have opted for non AC Hostels. The complete cost over 4 years including hostel fees is 1440000.

Campus Life

The campus life here is quite exciting and colorful. The university holds and organises a lot of various abd amazing events. The best of them all is the CU Fest which will be held in the next month. Everyone is mostly excited for this event.

Hostel Facilities

Hostel facilities are okayish... there are 4 people crooked up in one small room. And the mess food was fine in the beginning, now the quality has degraded a lot forcing the Hostellers to spend money and eat outside.

Hostel Fee: INR 120000 per year

Admission

The admission process is quite simple and very easy and user friendly. All you have to do is give the cucet examination, in which if u score good, you get good amount of scholarships. The course I've chosen is CSE, this course has a broad spectrum of fields and advantages.

The curriculum changes as per the need of the industry norms so that student can attain knowledge about the basics as well as the niche technologies.This is the aspect to choose the course and the lab work and continuous competitions help us with the industry trends. The management could be improved. The frequency of exams help us learn well and difficulty is between easy to medium.

Chandigarh University: Is it worth the investment?

Placement Experience:

The student become eligible for campus placements from 5th semester. The companies visited per year are approximately 200. They claim 100% placements but in reality they divide students into placement and non- placement batches called tpp and ntpp. If you slip up even once, you will be debarred from the tpp group. The highest package is 53 LPA. The average package is 4.5 LPA. Companies like JP Morgan, TCS, Capgemini, PlaySimple, Cognizant, Nokia, Philips, Morgan Stanley, PWC, KPMG, EPAM, Watchguard, High radius, OYO, Coding Ninjas, Samsung, etc have already came. More companies are yet to come. Since the student intake is too much, placements are really hard to get since there is too much competition. In the end, people get hired in mass recruitment companies and get minimum pay of 3-4 lpa. My plans are apply for off-campus jobs and start working in corporate after the degree. If I don't get a job, I haven't decided what I will do next.

Placement Experience:

Placements are good but I am more looking towards offcampus placements. I will do internships from my second year and in first year I'll make the base. I contacted to some of the seniors they said doing hardwork will definitely lead to a good package.

Placement Experience:

After 4 semester students are eligible for sitting in placements. There are alot of company visiting and alot of them take 2-3 with really good package and some handful with good enough packages of nearly10 lpa and the highest package was i think of in last month was of around 60 lpa . My plans after getting a degree is too work my way through companies to a FAANG Companies

From the second year itself students are eligible for campus placements and the companies right now visited are more than 80 + like Amazon Google Microsoft etc the highest package right now in our college 2.5 crore right now as a fresher more than 80% are getting placements which I can I can see and many used to start they own startups and get success in their field as help you teachers them and give them opportunity to learn and do startups and my plan after getting a degree is if you get a placement and huge packages and get a experience from them and to start my own business

My imperfectly perfect College life reviewed for everyone who needs it

Placement Experience:

Though when I got admission in this college, I saw the placement rates were very nice, around 95%, but maybe it was our session's fault. I passed out in 2024, and in that particular year, the placements were not as expected and as seen in the previous batch, so that was something very much disappointing because I paid so much money on a degree, only everything was good about the college, but in the end, placement matters during my session. Usually, the companies that hired for example, 10 students only hired two students.

I didn't apply to any other college. I chose it because it was close to my home. The admission process to give CUCAT exam for which the fees is 1000 rupees. The passing marks are 40 out of 100.
