- Placements are good in this campus because almost more than 96 are placed here with better packages.
- Lots of extracurricular activities and clubs , fests which develops interest in students.
- Academics are quite good and difficult in this campus and I feel these would help students to grow better.
Dislikes
- Infrastructure is average due lo low funding and budget of campus.
- There is water scarcity in campus during summer.
- Some of Assistant Professors are not well qualified and can't teach properly.
Course Curriculum Overview
Computational and Data Science course is offered by Department of Mathematics in this college.I am interested in field of Data Science and Machine Learning so I choose this course. The curriculum of this course is good and worth for learning as this field is an growing edge in Computer Science. We should be good at Mathematics and capable of solving problems to top this couse.The teaching and research facilities are available in this campus but we should make use of them.
Internships Opportunities
By the end of 5th or 6th semester , the students are offered with internship opportunities in many companies such as Google,Dell, Qualcomm, Infosys,etc... The course includes major projects as well related to particular department , those may be helpfuf for students to get placed well.
Placement Experience
The placements inside campus are good according to statistics. From 6th semester the are onto internships. Average package is around 14 LPA and highest package on campus is 54.7 LPA . The highest international package offered is around 95 LPA .I feel NITK is better in placing students with better package on average. Companies like Google, Microsoft, Infosys,Dell ,Qualcomm, LBM etc... around 75 companies visit campus.
Fees and Financial Aid
The tution is 62,500 and hostel fees including mess would be around 35,000 for each semester. So It will be total 1,25,000 for tution fess anf 70,000 for hostel and mess. There is fee waiver offered by college as this is central government institute based on annual income. For students whose family income is less than 100000 there will be no tution fee. If it is less than 500000, 2/3 rd of tution fee is waived. There are scholarships as well for 1st year students such as Reliance , NSP , FFE ,etc...
Campus Life
This campus includes lots of fun and technical fests like ENGINEER , INCIDENT . And festivals aslo celeberated in campus. There are several clubs such as photography, music ,sports, yoga,NCC, dance,etc.. and popular technical clubs IEEE, e -CELL . Students having interest and join in those. The classroom are average and facilities for research are also available. Their is encouragement in sports and cocurricular activities in this campus so that students can choose career options as their wish.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel rooms are average and not so good .There are study table,cupboards, chair, bed,electricity and wifi is also available for each room. For 1st year students the rooms are three sharing and from 2nd year we can choose. The mess is average and food is less spicy but there are many varities of food. Hostels are alloted after admission on day of reporting.
Admission
I have written JEE Mains in 2023 and I have secured a rank which is sufficient for an admission into NITK . After this exam I had JOSAA counselling process . I belong to OBC category and in 6th round of counselling I got this course in this college. I suggest the students to prepare well for JEE exam and give their best .
