Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course is quite good. The subjects are very diverse and interesting to learn. The faculty's teaching methods make the entire journey even more exciting for the students. In terms of placements, I don't think this course really helps you in getting into corporate, if that's your goal. You'd probably have to pursue some separate courses such as content writing, social media management, etc (as per your interests) if you wish to go for a job right after course completion. But if you wish to go for MA in English hons, then it really helps you in building a solid foundation.

Placement Experience

4.5

From the 5th semester, students are provided with opportunities to interview for different roles in many domains. Usually there are a lot of tech and service based companies seeking employees who could run their content department. Companies like skillingyou, crosshairs, etc are approached by the college's placement cell. In my time, the highest offer stood at 3.6LPA and the average package was at 1.8LPA, but I'm guessing now the average package has moved up to 2.4LPA. The profiles offered were mostly service-based. Not many students participate in the placement drive because they seek admission for higher studies but 80-90% of them are always placed. My plans were to get a job and I got one in the digital marketing industry.

Fees and Financial Aid

There's a possibility of 10% increase in the overall tuition fees every year but I think the college and this course provides you enough value for your money. The complete cost of education for your 3 years of bachelors should come around 3.5L. I don't think there are any separate financial aids available for this particular course but the institute might introduce some new policies for the reservation class. In terms of placements, the committee will definitely help you access companies and seek employment. The average package in my time was 1.8L but I'm guessing it has come up to 2.4L now. I think it's a decent amount for a fresher. The job roles depend on your qualifications, both in terms of this course and your separate certifications (if any). Some of them are content writers, social media managers, creative content associates, etc.

Campus Life

5

The campus life is absolutely amazing. The college itself has so many clubs, excluding clubs from your own department i.e VSES. The college runs a NSS committee that'll not just help you give back to society but also upgrade your resume in terms of social services and volunteering. The college also has its own feats. The best one is Spandan, a spectacular fest organised by the journalism department of VIPS. Talking about the library, it is decent in size and provides books from many domains. There are two different libraries, one dedicated to the law department and the other for the rest of the departments. The college also organised semi annual sports fests where students from all departments come together to participate in fun games and activities. Some committees are also student-driven and will definitely allow you to explore your leadership skills and adaptability.

Admission

Minimum 50% in 12th were required. Along with this, I had to clear the course cut off regarding the CET of IP university. The application form link was available on the IPU website. The exam was conducted once in a year in the month of April. The test was fairly moderate in terms of difficulty and only required basic awareness and knowledge. In my opinion, IPU provides one of the best curriculums for this course, even better than DU. The faculty is also very well versed with it so it makes the entire process of learning quite fun and exciting for the students.

The course curriculum is a bit too theoretical and less practical. The exams in the college takes places every month which are seasonals and are for internal marking and then we have semester exams in every 6 months which accounts for the external marking.

I will rate the course at Delhi Univeristy 8 out of 10. As a student, I'm receiving offline study materials via the post, however, you have to pay around 500 rupees for the books and notes when filling the fees every year.

This course curriculum includes learning across 2 feilds like i have economics and maths and later we can continue 4th year to get hons degree . So its really gives time for a person to test himself or herself about which field to go on for as specialization. The difficulty level for this course is easy to moderate.
