Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The course is quite rigorous and in line with the current job market. There are various subjects and electives offered with good and in-depth understanding of concepts. However, many subjects are repeated through the 5 years, if one is opting for an Integrated Masters degree. The teaching methods include classroom lectures with the aid of ppts. Reference books and Articles are shared. There are three internal examinations scheduled, one every month, before the end semester examination. There is usually no gap between internal examinations with two subjects in a day. Exams are medium to difficult.

Internships Opportunities

2

Companies such as EY have come to take intern. But there were very few companies. Only 7-10 companies have come to take interns. Not stipend was provided. Only 15-20 people out of 55 have been given internship opportunities.

Placement Experience

1

Students are eligible for campus placements only in the second year of their Masters. Undergraduate students do not have any placement facilities. Some of the companies which have visited are EY 12lakhs package which is the highest for this year Societe Generale 7lakhs package, etc. I don't recall the names of all the companies. Most companies do not prefer coming to the campus for placements as this is a newly established college. The percentage of students who get placed this year is 15%. I decide to find a job outside after my Masters.

Fees and Financial Aid

The tuition fees is approximately 50,000rs per year. Other expenses are added to the total fees such as 20,000rs per annum for hostel. Since it's a residential program, one has to stay in the hostel compulsorily. The complete cost of my education for 5 years should be between Rs6,00,000 to Rs 7,50,000. Scholarships are offered in the masters program. Three students could avail a scholarship this year which gives them a monthly/annual payment of Rs5000. However, coming to campus placements, it's poor. Internship opportunities are not provided properly. The companies which come to our college for recruiting offer very low packages. The Training and Placement Cell works hard but their efforts go in vain.

Campus Life

0.5

There is no campus life around here. Until recently, there were no clubs. Currently, there are 5-6 clubs according to my knowledge. There are no grand fests which happen in the college. There are hundreds of restrictions on celebrating any festival in the campus. There are three events every year - Freshers, Ethnic Day, Annual Day and Farewell combined on the same day. Facilities are decent and good. There is no playground as such. There are facilities for badminton and indoor sports.

Hostel Facilities

2.5

The rooms are very nice and top class. One bed, cupboard, a study table, one shoe stand, a pin board are provided along with the room. There are common washrooms at the end of the corridor for people to use. A mess facility is available where we get breakfast, lunch, snacks and dinner for Rs130/day. The mess food is okayish. It's like any other mess. Sometimes the food is good, sometimes it's bad.

Admission

To get admitted into the university, you would have to give an entrance examination called CUCET. The eligibility to apply for the Bachelors or Integrated Economics course is Mathematics as a compulsory subject in 12th/PUC studies. To apply to Masters, having a Bachelor's degree in Economics is a must. The application form can be found online. The forms usually open in April- May. One has to fill out the college application form and select Dr B R Ambedkar School of Economics as one of the preferred colleges on CUCET application form. Selecting it as the first option increases the chances of getting into the university. The examination one has to take is CUCET. When I had written the examination, the difficulty level was easy to moderate. For undergraduate courses, one has to focus on General Knowledge, Logical Reasoning, etc. while to get into a Masters course, having a thorough knowledge of undegrad level economics is a must.

Placement Experience:

There is no such thing as placements for now (in 1st year here) but in our second year, we have placement support here. We have compulsory internship at our Second year. We only have 2 batches, 1st Year and 2nd Year. But for now, among our seniors 60% of them hold internships and others are either building something or scaling their skills. For now, we don't have any placement records but according to scaler academy, it will be aroung 24 Lakhs.

Overall it is a nice institute to learn everything about fashion & design. But there are a lot of rules and restrictions as it is an army college and it need to maintain the discipline. It has very compact sized population in the campus which makes the campus life a little boring.
