Remarks

The management is OK. The college is good for those who only wants to study. Otherwise I won't recommend this college.

Entrance Preview

I got admission on the basis of my ISC marks which was 88%. My name was on the first list and my admission was done dlby counseling. I Opt chemistry because I want to make medicines and this seems the right course for me.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course structure was good but too long. My electives were maths and physics and Hindi and English. And in the last year chemistry was broken into three parts - inorganic, organic and physical. No electives were there in the last year except a paper on evs which was really unnecessary.

Internships Opportunities

No, they do not provide internships. But if go to a professor individually, they may recommend you to some labs and places where you can work as a summer or winter intern, mostly without stipend.

Placement Experience

0.5

It is very bad. No reputed science Jobs came for campusing. Only TCS came that too for a BPO job. If it is the job you want then I don't recommend this college. But if you want to study and pursue masters after your bachelors then the professor's will give a glowing recommendation.

College Events

3

The college hosted many intra events like quiz, treasure hunt, art competition, writing competition, dance, and music competition. The inter-college events were also held on the day of the college fest. Other colleges were invited for a friendly competition and they also send many students to other colleges to represent our college.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is feasible and it is a government college. Mine was around 2000 rupees for 6 months. But the method of payment was very tedious for us as we had to stand in ques for giving the fee. But nowadays the money is paid to a bank on your own time but within the time limit given by the college

Fees and Financial Aid

Financial help is there for the minorities. There are scholarships available but not from the college but from the university to students who scored well in their class 12.

Campus Life

4.5

The campus life is not very cool. You can play games like carrom, badminton and there is a common room. This is a girls college. The labs are well equipped. Very less politics is there in the college and ragging is not allowed there not that it is done there. Different communities of students come here solely on the basis of merit.

Hostel Facilities

1.5

There is neither a college hostel nor a college mess. However, there are pgs near the college and there is a small canteen with reasonable food. But the food is not healthy. The pgs are also quite feasible with about 4000 rent including the electricity bill.

Alumni/Alumna

No, there is hardly any alumni network but the senior students are very helpful. The seniors give us a Freshers party and there we can build a rapport with them.

Exam Structure

We had a main college exam, one Main university exam, one midterm. All of the above-mentioned exams were combined with lab practicals. Definitely, a hectic schedule was there in between labs, exams, projects and stuff. But holidays were easy on us. We had 2 vacations 30 days each. Now the yearly system is getting replaced by semester system which means 2 main and university exam per year with two midterms.

Admission

I filled the form online and my name was out in the first list. The list of students were given rank on the basis of marks of class 12 and then counselling was done. The administration was student friendly. The only drawback was that they were not very fluent in English.

Faculty

3.5

All of the faculties were highly qualified and educated. But some of them were not able to speak English properly. But all of them have appropriate enough knowledge to teach in a college. Some of them were too strict but it's better to be strict and educated than be lenient and not appropriate enough. They were student friendly. We could go anytime to them for any guidance.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I've always found economics to be really interesting and thats why I choose to persue it. I wanted to dive deep into the actual concepts and workings of the economy and understand how the world works from an economist's point of view. Sadly the curriculam doesnt bridge the gap between theory and real life. It focuses heavily on textbook and not how the world works.

The Physical Chemistry faculties are the best I got, that influenced me to carry forward my research carrier in Physical Chemistry. The curriculum for the Physical and Inorganic chemistry are upto the mark and I felt improvement in teaching style and curriculum is required for Organic Chemistry part. The difficulty of Internal examination can be improved a bit.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would say the course is good but you have to opt for masters and PhD to get a good placement. After bsc there's not any placement. The curriculum was basically practical and theoretical based. But I think it should be more practical so that we can get a job after doing bsc. The teaching method was good I didn't have any problem with that. As it was under Calcutta University so the exam questions were too difficult, sometimes it came out of our syllabus , i think they should change this a little bit .

Course Curriculum Overview:

The syllabus for BSc. Microbiology Hons. was in line with my interests. Few topics like virology, bacteriology, and diversity of the microbial workd are what drew my attention to pick this course. Although there are some portions which one would consider "boring", but I believe every subject has its interesting as well as boring portions. It's seems fair to judge a subject by seeing if the "boring" portions outweigh the "interesting" parts or not.

Course Curriculum Overview:

In terms of relevance and comprehensiveness of the course curriculum, my rating is solid 4.1 out of 5. Because it offers a variety of courses like compulsory english, environmental science, constitution values of India, Inter Disciplinary Courses where one can opt for a variety of subjects which change along with the course proceeds or semester changes. Not only that two major papers and one minor paper are present throughout the semester. As a student we should be well aware of our country and its law as well as how we can keep our environment healthy followed by sustainable development.
