Course Curriculum Overview

I took computer science btech at NIT Calicut which is going very well. I took this course with my personal interest. The faculty is very well qualified many of them did Ph.D. They teach very well so that we understand everything and give assignments that are useful

Class Size: 200Course Fees: INR 150000 per year

Internships Opportunities

Many campus internships are available with stipends upto 2-3 lakhs per month which lasts 6 months. computer science students are getting good internships like in Amazon, Flipkart, Dell, wellsfargo, etc. with good stipends

Placement Experience

Placements in campus are good.from semester 5 students can apply for internships.the average package of a computer science student is 12lakh per annum.highest package is 40lakh per annum this year.my branch has 100% placements

Fees and Financial Aid

The tution fee is 1,50,000 per year and the hostel fee is 30,000 per year for general students. The fee structure is according to caste. The reservation candidates pay less fee. Scholarships are available for reservation students only.

Campus Life

The campus life is wonderful. Apart from studies, we have different types of sports and also clubs which we can take part in and learn many things. There are committees to work for events. All these clubs and committees are run by students only.

Hostel Facilities

The hostel is good. We have 2 shared rooms from the second year which are comfortable. There are different types of mess and we can opt for any of them according to our interest. different types of food are available in the mess.

Hostel Fee: INR 60000 per year

Admission

I have written JEE mains as an entrance exam which is well known. Reservation is available. I know this exam because of its popularity. The cutoff is different for different castes. home state and girls' reservation is also available.

from semister 6 students become eligible for campus placements and companies loke bank of america , google microsoft etc visited for campus placements and the highest package is about 54 lakhs where as average is 11 lakhs and about 98% of the students are placed

Placement Experience:

The placement here is top notch. This year in my campus the highest CTC offered was 56.5lpa by PALOALTO. Placements process is centralised at coimbatore though. Students are eligible for campus placements from third year or s5. Average package in computing department ranges from 10-12lpa. My plans after degree is to pursue MS: opportunities of which are provided by the college itself. In computing department almost 90% of the students have been placed according to the seniors I talked to. However it is lower in other streams.

Average student experience at amrita

Placement Experience:

As of what i spoke to the seniors they said that AI students got better placements compared to Core students and the average package is around 9LPA for CSE branches students and 7LPA overall for all the branches and there is CIR foundation classes where they teach us how to improve our communication skills and How to create a resume right from first year itself according to seniors it is very helpfull

An aspiring first year student’s review

Placement Experience:

Civil engineering is a course with least placement in every engineering colleges. Students are placed during their fourth year in college. Sobha Constructions Ltd is one of the main companies that visits college. 200000rupees package is the average package offered. Les than 25 percent civil engineers get placed. I plan to prepare for GATE exam and pursue more in this course.

I have choosen this college because it is of top 5 NITs and i am getting a good branch. I have apllied for remaining top nits also, but i got this for my jee mains rank( i couldn't make to other top nits because may be of lack of good preperation for jee). When compared to remianing NITs, this college has everything that every other NIT also have, the sports facilities here can be improved. Life at NITC by Vimosh Kumar

I wanted to get into Mechanical Engineering in any of the top NIT's so applied for all the NIT's in the NIRF ranking order with mechanical in every college so after the counselling happened to get into NIT Calicut. The admission process is through JoSAA Counselling where students come to the college after getting alloted but before that the student needs to clear the JEE Main Exam to get admitted into the college. Accordind to NIRF rankings this is the top 27 Engineering college in India and top 3rd NIT. Admission process is only through JEE Mains Exam. You need very good percentile to join this college. Nit Calicut very good placements too....Read More
