Likes

Overall, NIT Calicut provided a fulfilling experience. Liked: Comprehensive curriculum, supportive faculty, vibrant campus life.
So much freedom for both boys and girls, so many clubs , committees, workshops to enjoy and work ourself to the finest make ourself a complete engineer.
The main part is about the fests, which are super awesome in which we can showcase talent , dance , singing and some well known artists come up with their trending songs, theres so many food stalls which will fill ur thirsty throat and empty stomach

Dislikes

Its about the hostel which is placed away for the second years and third years although the buses are available , cant really take advantage
Its about the girls boys ratio, very less number of girls , they shoyld increase the number of seats for the girls
Different faculty for the same branch, which we can tell it as a biased but nevermind its always the night before the exams so no worries

Internship opportunities at NIT Calicut vary across fields. Companies like Amazon, Intel offer roles in software development with stipends. Projects include developing algorithms, software solutions, and data analysis, resulting in practical skills and industry exposure.

Placement Experience

Students are eligible for placements from the 7th semester. Companies like Microsoft, Google visit offering high packages. Avg package is decent. Around 80% students get placed. If not, I plan to pursue higher studies or explore job opportunities.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure is reasonable, but there's a yearly hike. Scholarships like Merit-cum-Means & Financial Assistance are available. I secured a campus job as a teaching assistant with a stipend which is quiet satisfying.

Life at NIT Calicut is vibrant with annual fests like 'Ragam' (Feb) & 'Tathva' (Oct). The library offers abundant books & journals. Classrooms have modern amenities. Sports and extracurricular activities thrive. Social groups like 'NITC Quizzing Club' and websites like 'NitcConnect' foster student engagement.

Placement Experience:

Students in 7th and 8th semester are eligible to sit for campus placements. Companies like Oracle, Goldman Sachs, L&T, Bajaj, Caterpillar and PSU's like BEL,HPCL and BPCL come to the college usually the coding companies offer aroung 35-40 LPA CTC and the core PSU companies offer around 17-18 LPA. Highest Package is 51 LPA and an Average Package of 12 LPA. Nearly 85% students from Circuit and CS branch get placed and around 60% in core branches who sit for placements, My plans after getting the degree is to join MBA to learn how business world works and how the money flows

I wanted to get into Mechanical Engineering in any of the top NIT's so applied for all the NIT's in the NIRF ranking order with mechanical in every college so after the counselling happened to get into NIT Calicut. The admission process is through JoSAA Counselling where students come to the college after getting alloted but before that the student needs to clear the JEE Main Exam to get admitted into the college.
