About Our NIT Rourkela

I am interested in Computer Sciences but I've not get good rank to get into that course, so I've opted Electronics and Instrumentation course. But I am preparing for Software placement. We have 5 theory subjects and 3 labs, in which for each theory subject we get 1 professor and for labs we get 2 professors for each lab. There will be a total of 70 students for this course. The faculty here are highly qualified in IIT's or from NIT's and have a long teaching experience. They teach well and they are friendly so that if we have any doubts regarding subjects we can ask when ever possible. In an acedemic year we have 2 semesters and in each semester we'll be having one mid sem and one end sem. Each semester is of 4 months and for every 2 months we have mid semester at first and after 2 months we'll be having end semester examinations.

We definitely need to do internship during our 3rd year. The companies are less this year due to recession. But the companies which came offered good stipend until now. Comapnies like Visa, SAP Labs, Texas Instruments, Microsoft, etc. MIcrosoft is the higest stipend offer with 1.25 Lakh per month and an average of around 45K per month.

From 6th semester, the companies will come for campus placements and the companies will give some Eligibilty criterion for CGPA, depending on CGPA we need to apply for placements. Main companies are Texas Instruments, Qualcomm, Decimal Point, Oracle, Fastenal, etc. In our course, out of 70 students 56 students are placed till now. The highest package offered is 34 LPA by Oracle and the average package will be around 12 LPA. Both Software and core profiles will get this offers. In our course there is 100% placement rate according to 2023 reports. If I get a good placement, I'll go otherwise I have to go to higher studies

If we discuss about fees, there will be no hike much not every year. We need to pay for Library fee, Exam fee, Medical fee, etc.. which costs around 15000. There will be financial assistance like educational loan from SBI bank and some scholarships. There will good placements here which offer around 12 LPA for our course.

There will be fests which will be conducted in all semesters, mainly tech fest is conducted in October and the annual fest is in the month of January. They are very nice. All the books which are used for the semester are available in library, but we need to take them as soon as possible. All the classrooms are clean, neat and hygiene. Classrooms are student-friendly. We can play any type of sports in the campus, there are cricket grounds, football grounds, shuttle courts, badminton, volleyball and pool also and many more. There are many clubs of our interests. Mainly there are coding clubs, sports clubs and dance clubs. I am in a social clubs called SDG Campus club and an Web Development club named 3D club. These clubs are managed by students for students

In our hostel room, it is basically a double room which can accomodate 2 people. We are given 2 beds and 2 study tables and a fan and a light. The food is OK as I am from South I need to adjust for food, but the food is good. They make different food everyday. During admission process only they'll ask for hostel or day-scholar. Most of them live in hostel to get that engineering environment.

First of all, we need to apply for JEE Mains examination and it will be the entrance exam, there will be no other exam for this NIT Colleges. After that, we need to apply for seat alocation. Depending on the rank we'll be able to get seat in this college. We can find application form in JEE Mains main website, it will be conducted twice a year. If we have any reservation, we can get into this college easily (even if we have high rank). We can also get fee consession depending on the reservation. No need of more improvements, but some changes during certificate verification.
