Course Curriculum Overview

4

I got 12084 rank in COMEDK according to the cut-off I got ECE branch although I was expecting ISE according to previous year cutoffs. Faculty is pretty flexible and sufficient according to the number of students in the college. All the facultys are PhD or are enrolled under such programs. All the professor are well educated and are pretty good at their stuffs. Term exams and all are conducted regularly as our college is Visvesvaraya technological University(VTU) afflicted so all the exams are very timely. Also , they conduct 3 internal exams of 30 marks and all the notes are provided. It's not too difficult or not too easy to pass the exam.

Internships Opportunities

3.5

Bharat Times offered internship of 15k/month for 6 months according to my seniors. As I'm currently in my first year so I don't have a very vast knowledge about this but internships offered in almost all the branches are good.

Placement Experience

3.5

7 sem students become eligible for campus placement. 50+ companies nearly visit including all the big companies, mass recruiter and startups and they offer all kind of packages. Apart from this zenken which is a Japan based firm also vists and many students get placed in that firm. 44 lpa is the highest placement and for this year ECE 28 lpa is the highest package till now. Almost all the students gets placed. I'll apply for placement in college.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees per year is according to COMEDK ie 2.37L per year. The fees hike depends upon the COMEDK for per year. If I took admission into this college for a proper fees for me it's not going to hike. Scholarship for Karnataka students is provided and the financial assistance is pretty good. The accounts department is very active. As I'm in first year I didn't went through any placement process but the on campus jobs opportunity is good but this year due to recession number of companies hiring is less as compared to previous year

Campus Life

3.5

Annual fest called ANADYANTAA is held yearly around April- may it includes all the social, cultural activities and concerts. Also, there are many active clubs such as GDSC, art club, dance club, Newton school of coding club, X-Factor(for different talents), Ai club , blockchain and cloud computing clubs all of these clubs conduct various tech and non tech events and compititions. The library is very efficiently managed and almost every study material is present there. Classroom includes projector and spacious bench and a black board. There is seperate building for first year. Sports is very good at Nmit many different events are organised and our college has team in every sport and other extra curricular activities have a dedicated club which is very active. Mostly clubs are initiated by students and many more clubs are on there way to establish.

Hostel Facilities

4

Hostel facilities are pretty affordable including mess. The hostel fees is 80k and mess fees is 35k. For girls there are two kinds of hostel one with 80k and other with 95k price. The 95k provides a godrej with a mirror, reading light and a pin board extra appart from this both hostels have common things such as bed(without mattress), study table and chair , 2 Washing machines on each floor. All the PGs are around 3kms away from here. The mess food is eatable , hygiene is properly maintained however a person get bored of eating the same food for the time being although special food is served on festivals and special occasions.

Admission

Admission in this college through COMEDK, KCET , MANAGEMENT QUOTA. The cutoff of COMEDK for CSE is around 8k and for ISE it's around 11k and for ECE it's around 15k. Application for opens around April and the exam of COMEDK is around last week of May. Through KCET you need to belong from Karnataka. For management quota you can directly approach to college. The exam is of 180 marks for 3hrs without negative marking.

The placement cell is very active in our college. Every year more than 30+ companies come to our college for recruitment . Our seniors from 7th semester get placed in many companies and before getting placed in the company our college offers internships to every student. Around 80 % of the students get placed in companies and work efficiently. The average package for civil engineering is 2.5 lakh per annum.

Placement Experience:

RIT's placement scenario is very good, even for the most unpopular branches such as Civil Engineering. Starting from the 7th semester, students are allowed to participate in campus recruitment, and companies come to the campus for the entire final year. The major recruiting companies are L&T Construction, Shapoorji Pallonji, Brigade Group, Sobha Developers, Atkins, PWD, and Infosys for the non-core sector. Civil students on an average get ?5–6 LPA as salary, and the highest offer is usually in the range of ?12–15 LPA, depending on the company and the position. Almost 70–80% of Civil students are placed, while some of them go for higher studies or government examination.Site engineer, design engineer, planning engineer, survey engineer, and trainee engineer are the core positions that are offered. Also, non-traditional roles in IT and consulting can be taken up by those who are not interested in core engineering profiles.I will first acquire some work experience in the industry after completing my degree and then will pursue a master's degree in structural engineering to gain further specialization.

Students become elegible for placements from 7th sem onwards but we are encouraged to do internship before final itself. Most of the companies that come here aren't t1 or even t2. Highest probably would be 12L only if the student is exceptional but most would secure a package 4-6. And the percentage of students getting placed is <50%
