Course Curriculum Overview
I chose Electronics and Telecommunications because I was interested in Robotics and IoT. Also I got good enough marks to get E&TC Branch. I missed the Tuition Fee Waiver Scheme (TFWS) of E&TC branch by mere 0.8 percentile. Talking about the Faculty student ratio, it is just enough to get proper guidance and not too high not too low. Just one thing is that we have less domain specific faculty and more general subjects faculty, so if you want proper guidance of about any really specific topic then there are less options. Almost all of the faculties are qualified with PhD degrees and are good in teaching also, so the teaching method is also good enough. You will get all the basic things are provided like notes, ppts, materials, etc. In one semester there are 3 exams: Mid-Semester-I, Mid-Semester-II and the End Semester Exam. The first Mid-Sem is around in 1 month of semester start, then after that in 1-1.5 months the Mid-Sem 2 is there and just after that End-Sem. All 3 are easy to pass.
Fees and Financial Aid
I overall fees of the college is ?1,68,000. Including Tuition Fees, College Fees, Examination Fees, etc. But this fees structure is only for Open category students. The fees structure is different for reservations like OBC, SC, ST, etc. Like for OBC, the overall fees is ?98,000, for SC it is even less. Now for this fees structure to be applied, we have to apply on the Government's MahaDBT website, from there we can avail the benefit of this scholarship. We can also get internships in the 8th Semester where college encourages us to intern in any company and thus providing a waiver to that semester, where we don't have to attend college during that semester if we are doing any internship.
Campus Life
Annually there are two types of Fests conducted in YCCE. First being "Yash", it is a cultural fest organised on the college level. Is consists of different cultural activities, sports competition, etc. It is of around 4-5 days. Now the second Fest consists of departmental tech-fests, where each department organises their own techfest. In this the most popular is the "ICON" organised by the E&TC department. A separate faculty is appointed to look after the sport activities in the campus but the facilities are not as expected. Like there is no ground for playing games like cricket, football. There is a proper basketball court and students usually play there a lot. There are many different clubs in YCCE of all different domains like developer clubs, literature clubs, social acitivity clubs, defence club, robotics club, etc. One such Club run by the students of YCCE is Google Developer Student Club (GDSC-YCCE). It is the biggest developer club in YCCE.
Admission
First of all the eligibility is totally on the 12th Marks and MHTCET/JEE Mains percentile only. There are no other eligibility criteria as such. You should have passed 12th from any board with distinction, and the allotment of branch is totally on merit basis. We can see the previous years cut-off and estimate the upcoming cut-off accordingly. For CAP rounds we have to apply from the MHTCET websites only. But after getting the allotment, while taking the admission, the staff asks you to fill a form on the college website itself. Where we have to upload the same documents as the MHTCET website. And after that, we have to visit the campus with the hard copies of the document and complete the proceduce for admission, fees, etc.
