Small Things About IITK

I chose this course to acheive carrer in civil engineering. Ratio will be a min of 5 faculties to 150 students in this course. Faculty have done a PhD in certain part of the course and will be worked as professor for many years related to the course. There will be a mid term exam which will be held after 45 days of after start of Semester and End term exam will be after 110 days after start of Semester and getting pass is a bit difficult because IIT Kanpur doesn't give good grading.

Actually I am second year and not accessed to interns yet. Interns will be in the beginning of 5th semester and 6th semester. SDE, Quant, Finance, Consulting, Core etc Interns are available. stipend will be based on your CPI, DSA test and projects. There is a committee named SURGE in IITK which offer projects in every summer.

From 4th year students are eligible for placements. Many companies visit and there will be around 900 to 1000 offers in a total batch. Highest package of civil engineering will be around 20 lakh and avg will be around 7 lakh. around 80 to 85 percent students will be placed. getting a job is my first priority.

It will be around 115000 to 120000 for general students and mess bill should be paid seperately. you can get scholarships like NSP, Donor, FBM etc and you can also get educational loan from SBI branch IIT kanpur with minimun interest and Repay period will be about 15 years.

Antaragni in October and Techkriti in March. you will be exposed to plenty of books and can be issued them for 15 days and also can be extended if needed. You will have Cerntral AC, projector, Good seats, some few charging plugs and good lighting system. you can play whatever sport you like and in First year you will have a Compulsory physical activity and you can choose whatever sport you like with trails before selecting you. All clubs, groups and some websites will be run by students.

You will have a triple or double shared room in 1st, 2nd year and single or double shared room in 3rd year and single room in 4th year and you will have a study table in 3rd, 4th year and you may or may not have study table seperately in 1st, 2nd year. you will have a cupboard (1 for double room, 2 for triple room) and switch boards. space, switch boards, cupboard space vary from every hall. menu is not that bad and consits of aloo many days. They will assign you hostel based on your year. rooms will be available in every hall and also visitors hostel - 1 & 2.

You have to clear JEE main and Advanced with a Good Rank for eligibility of this course. Application form will be found in JEE main website i.e. NTA website and JEE Advanced in it's own website. NO need to pay tution fee for SC, ST candidates and also students whose parental income is below 1 lakh per year. Percentage of fee concession for OBC candidates and candidates whose parental income is below 5 lakh per year. They can be eligible for scholarships also. I found admission process very good and smooth.
