Chandigarh University- by a freshee.

I want to pursue CSE only and was not getting cse in any NIT so i choose Chandigarh University. Student faculty ratio is average. But almost 90% faculty which teach you are PhD holders or pursuing Phd. Mid sems are conducted twice and end sem as well as mid sems are not so much difficult if you focus during class lectures

Currently i am in 2nd semester and didn't applied for any internship as i am focusing on skill. But i got my 1 research paper published and worked on a project as well hope it also get published. I am targeting for internship from 3rd semester in college.

From 5th sem students are ready for campus placements. But if you sincerely worked in your skills you can definitely grab a good offer. This year highest package was 54lpa(india) and average was around 5lpa.

Fee for a CSE student is 120000 per semester but you can get a quite good scholarship through CUCAT exam. But there is a condition that you have to maintain a 7.5 cgpa throughout year as well as there should be no backlogs or you shouldn't be detained in any subject. Total cost of study is quite high for a middle class student if you include hostel and yearly fee(without scholarship) otherwise it is affordable.

There are lot of fests , concerts throughout year. You can get any book as libraries are well equipped. Chandigarh University provide a great platform for the sports students and for extra curricular activites as well.

There are 2 types of room - AC/Non AC and there are different rooms like 2 seater ,3 seater ,4 seater and 5 seater as well. You get one study table, chair , bed from hostel management. Mess is average but not so bad , you can eat daily in mess only few days in month the food is not good. For hostel you have to pay fee of 132000 for 3 seater Non AC room.

I applied to Chandigarh University through CUCAT exam which is a proctor based online exam and various scholarships are provided through it depending upon how much you scored in that exam , Generally CUCAT exam form is 1000Rs. Additional scholarship is provided to you if you scored good percentage in 12th and you got 90+%ile in jee mains.
