IIT Jammu - A college of dreams

I choosed this course because civil engineering provides good opportunity in government sector. The faculty to student ratio is good and around nearly 1 faculty for every 20-25 student. Most of the faculty members have excellent teaching methods and are highly qualified with each having a PhD from reputed institutes. The exams were timely and subjects like calculus and linear algebra were a bit tough to pass.

The I have not done any internship as of now but did a drone swarming project under one of the electrical engineering professor who offered a monthly stipend of Rs10000. But seniors have mentioned that on campus internship opportunities are fairly good.

The fees considering the tution fees and hostel/ mess fee comes around to be 3lacs per annum. The scholarship is provided to all sc/st as they are not charged tution fees and the rest of students are provided scholarship based on their merit in case their family income is less than 5 lacs per annum.

The annual fest is Anhad and tech fest is Technuctus and are held in March and May respectively. The library is decent with books from large domain of academic and non academic areas. The classrooms are well equipped with most of the modern teaching facilities. The sports culture is very vibrant, though we lack facilities for sports such as swimming and squash. There are several clubs ranging from anime to robotics.

The newly made hostel rooms are provided to 3rd and 4th year student and the rooms are single occupancy room and consist of an almirah, bed, table, chair and a centralised ac. It is mandatory for all Btech students to avail hostels.

Got selected for the course through JEE advanced. The application form were available easily online on nta website. I secured AIR 16023 and got selected through EWS quota. The admission process can be improved by simply the josaa website.
