Classes: The professors are very friendly and every class are interactive and interesting.

Dislikes

Food: the food in the mess is the only thing I dislike in the hostel.

Course Curriculum Overview

The course curriculum is better than most other govt colleges and the professors are friendly and interactive. The professors will never put pressure on you and instead they provide a friendly environment. Most professors have a background in ISI kolkata .The term exams are respective...easy to some and avg to some , but aren't hard enough. The average sgpa is always around 8.5.

Class Size: 50Course Fees: INR 9600 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees is very reasonable and low to be honest. 4000 alltotal fees including 800 course fees and 3200 hostel fees. Don't know much about the hike policy since the fees has been same over the years . I get inspire scholarship but haven't applied for any stipend.

Campus Life

Every dept has its own college fest, statistics having INFERENCIA. The hostel life is exquisite with a lot of fun. Most classrooms have digital facility and labs are well maintained. Many sports activities are available. For eg basketball ,table tennis, badminton, cricket,football, volleyball etc.

Hostel Facilities

Every room has 3 windows and 3 beds . The room ain't congested but the meal is a little bad to be honest. But you have the facility to go outside the campus and eat as you wish. The locality is nice with many branded stores nearby. You can live outside as a pg but I won't suggest that.

Hostel Fee: INR 38400 per year

Admission

An admission test is taken after 12th boards .For statistics bachelor's, a test is taken on mathematics which to be honest is a bit hard but could be dealt well if practiced well enough. A list of 25 candidates will be published along with a few waiting list students.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I think I'm a curious student. Integrating biology with technology is interesting Recently we are studying animal tissue culture plant tissue culture which is superb. Generating a plan from a single cell is truly something interesting. I was drawn to genetics and biotechnology application . This curriculum prepares a student for research and industrial purpose . We get to do lab experiments project work under professors. In my opinion improvement can be done by industrial visits Exams take place at the end of each semester and we have mid sems in between

SXC Kolkata is a gem of a college.

Placement Experience:

Computers are so vast that masters is mandatory and therefore I have certain plans for that. However big scale IT companies come here and students of Computer science Hons have had placements worth 6-10 lakhs easily. My plans are to appear for the job interviews but not taking any as I want to study more.

Placement Experience:

College does provide internship opportunities both through the placement cell as well as department faculty. Semester 5 and Semester 7 students are eligible for placements. Average package is about 5.5 lakh per annum for microbiology course. Although placement percentage is on the lower side majority of students go for higher studies. Many prepare for exams like GATE, IIT JAM, etc.

Placement Experience:

college placements are good in this college with a number of good financial and consultancy firms coming in with new gen companies as well in the service and sales industry. moreoever getting a good placement in a top financial or consultancy placement requires a POR in a good society as a criteria, its not really required but adds to your chances of getting it. moreover you require to participate in a number of case study competitions for the same as well. my plans after graduation is probably working for a year or two after which i plan on doing my MBA. around 50-60% who apply get a placement.

My experience at St. Xavier's

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course theory helps us gain a solid understanding of the subject matter. Film studies and Mass Communication theory classes has laid down the foundation of the subject- from what is a shot and the kinds of shots and angles, to the beginning of radio in India and essays by CS Pierce and John Berger. The course also includes practical classes in the sound labs, editing labs and we will learn to use a camera, as one of the things we will have to do in this course is make films of our own.

Placement Experience:

The college offers good placements for economis. Students in their final year are eligible for campus placements and there is a cell dedicated to placements. Many students do not opt for placements and go for higher studies but many students who opt for it, get placed with decent packages. Many well-known companies visit the campus as well. In our batch, we are 21 students who come regularly, the faculties are 6, whereas 2 lab attendants. All faculties are MSc and 4 of them have PhDs. Statistics Honours at Ramakrishna Mission Residential College(Autonomous)

There a certain criteria to get admission to this college. 1)You must have a certain cut-off mark in your board exam(HS). If you have then you are eligible for the entrance test. 2) After clearing the test you will be qualified for admission here. Within a few months(2 or 3) after the board exam, the online form filled up for the admission test starts on the college's website. You just have to visit a few times on the college website after the board exam for admission details and exam dates. Application fees( per subject) : 500/- You can take exams on different subjects if you want.
