Statistics Honours at Ramakrishna Mission Residential College(Autonomous)

First of all, I love Statistics. Also, there is a great job opportunity after reading the statistics here. A BSc in Statistics(Hons) covers a wide range of topics. The scope of the program prepares graduates for careers in data analysis, research and various other fields that require strong quantitative and analytical skills. At present, there are 9 teachers and 25 students in our year. To clear the exams you need to read class notes and books properly.

Every year a good number of students have been admitted to ISI, IIT and so on. B.Sc in Statistics honours can lead to many destinations. But you will have to add some more add-ups to it. One can choose the lines of CA, Market Research, Accounts Planning, Economics Evaluator and so on. One can also pursue management because Statistics plays a major role in practical aspects of management.

Studying here does not cost much. There is no need to buy books because we get all the books from the library and also have class notes. Since we study in a residential college, we have to pay monthly fees of 3800/- per month for our accommodation and food. It is not much but it is more for a backward poor family so there is provision of less money and scholarship for them.

The nature of the campus provides the best environment for study. We do group study for better interaction with each other in class. We don't have an annual fest like other colleges but instead, they arrange Vidyarthi Sava for freshers. This was conducted a few months after admission. This a holy day for us. All kinds of books and journals are available in the library No need to buy any books. Here we study in a smart tech classroom with a projector. A special auditorium is accommodated for special lectures. Annual sports competitions are held here as well as inter-departmental sports like football, cricket, volleyball, table tennis, badminton etc. There are no student clubs or websites here.

To control there are always Maharajs who are present to look after us. In hostel there is full time water supply and food. The quality of hostel food is also good . Every day of the week meal included fish at noon and dinner includes eggs or fish . Chicken are served one day in a weak. The hostel is inside the campur area.

There a certain criteria to get admission to this college. 1)You must have a certain cut-off mark in your board exam(HS). If you have then you are eligible for the entrance test. 2) After clearing the test you will be qualified for admission here. Within a few months(2 or 3) after the board exam, the online form filled up for the admission test starts on the college's website. You just have to visit a few times on the college website after the board exam for admission details and exam dates. Application fees( per subject) : 500/- You can take exams on different subjects if you want. The admission process is done only through the college website and there's no offline process for application. These are the negative points here which should be improved. Total Number Of seats: 25 Some seats are reserved for students from Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), and Other Backward Classes (OBC).
