Likes

In my course, practical classes are good.
Sitting in library and studying very good, well disciplined.
Faculties are punctual enough, they teach properly.

Dislikes

Washroom is dirty sometimes, sometimes we have to call the cleaner.
Except computer lab, other labs are so small.
I dislikes for stepping into the staircase.

I choose this course because this course give various opportunities in futures. Our facilities are good as well as students. Many Prof. Are M.Tech and done there prof. Degree from good colleges. 3 years course having 6 Semester and now there ir 4years course having 8 sems.

Class Size: 55Course Fees: INR 30000 per year

Placement Experience

From sem 5 they give us the placement, companies like TCS, wipro etcs. Average pakage is 30k to 40k as per experienced. Percentage is good like 75% to 80% in science stream and good % in arts. My plan is to experience many companies with 3year or 4years and get a good pakage job at last.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees is okay in every stream, more or less the college is very good in Kolkata, not very costly in every stream. SVMCM and many other scholarships are there and jobs are offered in last year of the course

Campus Life

The college comduct a fest in the month of December and every department freshers are there. Library is very good, every books are there and disciplined in the Library is mandatory. Sports are held and many students take place.

Admission

For science you must have maths and (physics or chemistry) in class 12. You can find the form in the official website - www.asutoshcollege.in Reservation seats are available for general, obc, st ,st. No improvement is need as this process is good enough.

Placement Experience:

College does provide internship opportunities both through the placement cell as well as department faculty. Semester 5 and Semester 7 students are eligible for placements. Average package is about 5.5 lakh per annum for microbiology course. Although placement percentage is on the lower side majority of students go for higher studies. Many prepare for exams like GATE, IIT JAM, etc.

Placement Experience:

college placements are good in this college with a number of good financial and consultancy firms coming in with new gen companies as well in the service and sales industry. moreoever getting a good placement in a top financial or consultancy placement requires a POR in a good society as a criteria, its not really required but adds to your chances of getting it. moreover you require to participate in a number of case study competitions for the same as well. my plans after graduation is probably working for a year or two after which i plan on doing my MBA. around 50-60% who apply get a placement.

My experience at St. Xavier's

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course theory helps us gain a solid understanding of the subject matter. Film studies and Mass Communication theory classes has laid down the foundation of the subject- from what is a shot and the kinds of shots and angles, to the beginning of radio in India and essays by CS Pierce and John Berger. The course also includes practical classes in the sound labs, editing labs and we will learn to use a camera, as one of the things we will have to do in this course is make films of our own.

We have a placement cell helping students get placed. They keep posting opportunities like internships and fellowships throughout the year to groom students and give them exposure and experience. I applied in a lot of colleges such as presidency, st Xavier's College Kolkata, Lady Brabourne, Loreto , Scottish Church got accepted in scottish, Loreto , brabourne I chose Asutosh because they made me feel comfortable and has the best geography department. I have applied for Dinabandhu Andrews College and also New Alipore College for mathematics hons and I got selected for both the colleges and I started class in Dinabandhu Andrews College for few days but there the faculty used to talk in Bengali and the faculty members are not really good also the ambience so I applied in Asutosh College and I got selected too over there....so I shifted to Asutosh College, as I always wanted to persue this course from Asutosh College due to there faculty in this subject is really very good.
