Course Curriculum Overview

4

Gokhale Memorial Girls College is renowned for having one of the oldest and best Psychology Departments in Kolkata as a result of which I chose to pursue my graduation in this college. The department of psychology is really up-to the mark and has stood the test of time. The faculty is very good, the teachers are interactive and they teach well.

Internships Opportunities

2.5

Various internships are available as I heard from my seniors . Some of the companies that come are Radio Mirchi, Tata etc. The college provides provisions for various courses like HR, Foreign Language, Content Writing etc.

Placement Experience

3.5

The students get placements from Semester 5 and 6. Various companies visit the college like Tata. The internships occur in all the fields once conducted by Radio Mirchi. Since in the field of psychology we don't get a job as soon as we complete graduation my plans are to pursue my Masters degree and Doctoral degree before getting jobs

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions

The fees is affordable for all. It is economic being a government aided college. The college provides various scholarship opportunities to the students who require financial assistance, namely Kanyashree Prakalpa, Student Credit Card Scheme by West Bengal Government etc.

Campus Life

2.5

The campus is very small in size hence no such fests or cultural activities are organized. But every year the college hosts their Annual Concert and Sports Day. The college has three social groups Literary Club, Cultural Club and Social Service Club. The library of the college is very well equipped and journals are launched by some of the departments as well as the college . All the classrooms have a smart board.

Admission

The entire admission process was carried out online, the process was completely free and no application fees was required. The process was application was conducted smoothly though a little latency in time was observed for both publishing the application form and the name list of the eligible candidates .

More than 200 companies offer jobs every year to students. the highest package is 40 kpm and the average is 30k pm. 60% of the students get placements. I plan on attaining a masters degree on the same after graduation.
