Course Curriculum Overview
I chose Metallurgical and Material Engineering (MME) because I have interests in metals and my dream job is to get into Tata Steel. We have 42 students and 7 professors in our department. The professors are highly qualified and they are very good in explaining every topics in detail. They clear all the doubts of students and they take extra doubt classes if required. There are 2 semester in first year of engineering. Before every semester, a class test of 30 marks is held. Our class tests is on January and 1st semester is on February. The difficulty of the exams are moderate. If one has a good knowledge of the topics that were taught by our professors, then he/she can easily get good marks.
Internships Opportunities
Students in Jadavpur University gets eligible for internships from 5th semester. Many companies like tata steel, Google, Amazon, Microsoft comes in our university for internships and they may hire you for Pre Placement Offer (PPO) if you do well in their internship program.
Placement Experience
The students become eligible for campus placements from 6th semester. Companies visited are Scrodinger, Google, Amazon, Facebook, Netflix, Microsoft, Tata Steel, Jindal Steel, TCS, Texas Instruments and many more.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees for studying in Jadavpur University is very minimal. We have to pay 710 rupees for each semester. There are 8 semesters in 4 years. Overall fees is 9600 for 4 years Bachelor of Engineering course.
Campus Life
The annual fest Sanskriti in Jadavpur University is held in the month of April. The tech fest Srijan is held on February. There is a central library in our university. There are over thousands of books in library.
Admission
If one has to get into Bachelor of engineering in Jadavpur University, he/she has to apply for West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination (WBJEE) and he/she must have obtained min 60% in PCM and min 60% in mathematics in class 12th board examination. WBJEE form is generally released in the month of November and the examination is held in April. The form for WBJEE registration is released on the official website o WBJEEB. The application fees is 500 for boys and 400 for girls.
