Remarks

NSIT is not just a college, it feels like home now. When I came to college, I never thought I would gtl up so well with people and be a part of a lot of clubs. I was anti social and introverted but today, I can speak in front of a crowd, live independently and have a lot of friends. This college was more of a transformation for me than just an academic experience.

Entrance Preview

For getting into any government college, one has to write JEE Mains and so did I. Although I fell ill two days prior to Mains and wasn't expecting a great score but still got a decent enough to get into NSIT. There was no interview and admission was solely based on the JEE Mains rank. I chose NSIT because I live nearby and can't really give up my parents by staying in the hostel. Moreover it has amazing placements, affordable fees and experienced faculty.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The course is designed keeping emphasis on practical knowledge as much as theoretical. Every subject has a lab associated with it wherein we are taught its working practically. There are a lot of research initiatives where every professor assists his/her students in the field of research and they are asked to work on projects and write papers on it. Like I researched in the field of compiler design which was a very interesting area. The electives are a final year thing and I haven't had any elective yet.

Internships Opportunities

Yes, the college gives us a platform to grab internships. The internships are provided after the third year and students do internships in summer break. The average stipend is around Rs.25k. The experience is great as students get exposure and experience. Even I have to sit for the internship drive this year and I am preparing for the same.

Placement Experience

5

The procedure begins in the final year so I am not in a position to answer right now. But as far as I've heard, everyone gets placed and companies like HCL, Deloitte, Amazon etc visit for placement drives. The average package is around 8-9lacs and it also depends on the stream.

College Events

4.5

Something or the other always goes around throughout the year. The most awaited events are Moksha, the annual cultural fest and Innovision, the annual technical fest. Both of them happen nearly around the same time in March. The average footfall is 10-15k. I was in the organizing committee of the fest so I love that time of the year. Even the individual events are organised by the various societies of are college but they are solely departmental events. Very few are open to all.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee was one of the reasons what made me chose NSIT. It is very affordable. To mention the figures, it was 1 lac per annum. I don't know if it differs in different branches but mine was 1 lac. It is very reasonable like any other government college. Although one of my friends had to take a loan and also people from backward classes applied for loans.

Fees and Financial Aid

As far as I know, the college does not provide any scholarship or loan facilities. I did not avail any, nor any of my friends. In getting loans, college does provides us with the documents but rest is on our part.

Campus Life

3.5

NSIT is very active in participating in extra curricular events. Our debating and dramatics society is well known throughout the circuit. The college also encourages activities like sports, quizzes etc by funding them. Yes, I got an opportunity as I was a cricket player and the college supported cricket a lot. The facilities provided are up to the mark.

Hostel Facilities

4

Yes, I kept up in the hostel which charged us 30k per semester. We were provided with single accommodation rooms to each student and it is the best thing to have. It allowed me to spend more time with myself as well as maintained my privacy. The mess food is healthy and tastes fine but not as good as home.

Alumni/Alumna

The alumni network is one of the best provided by any engineering college in the country. The students of NSIT are well known once they step out of college. The student alumni interactive session is held in the final year of study. I personally had a chance to get in touch with a lot of NSIT alumni placed at Google and Facebook etc.

Exam Structure

Exams are evenly spaced to reduce the burden on students. The college tries its best to keep the stress level minimum, thats why exams are scheduled quarterly in an year. A semester consists of two evaluations. So, it is more or less a chill culture if prepared prior to them.

Faculty

4

The teachers are well qualified and experienced. They have extensive knowledge of their respective domains and have researched in it too. They motivate us not only understand the theory concepts but understand its applications in depth and bring it to practical knowledge. They are always willing to help and are approachable.

Placements are good especially during recession. You're eligible for placements after 3rd year. After 2nd Year you're eligible for Internships. All Big Companies like Google Microsoft Apple Goldmansachs Mckinsey etc. Highest package offered till now in 2025 is 85LPA (Atlassian) Average of CSE is 17 -18 lpa . almost 53% people get placed in 2025 (recession time). See The degree OF DTU has its value. So it gives you an edge while you go for off campus.

Placement Experience:

The placement rate here is around 70-75% on an avg in all branches and sometimes even higher. After 1st year only , multiple opportunities starts coming . After 1st year and before 2nd year , basically in summer vacation we have to do a compulsory internship (college also provides) and we are provided a credit for that . Then multiple opportunities like GOOGLE STEP ,amacon internship , etc come.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The university doesn't beat around the bush while deciding the courses. They have picked only the subjects and the curriculum that are suitable for our field and focus on making us future-ready. Some subjects might seem a little fast-paced, but if you are consistent enough, you won't face any problems. It is safe to say that the exams and things taught in most the subjects are same to that of its so there is no lacking behind in that aspect.
