Course Curriculum Overview

I choose this course to make a good career in future in software. The faculty is good and the student ratio is also well. All the faculty members are very experienced and their teaching skills are so good and student friendly. The exams are held as per university notices.

Class Size: 50Course Fees: INR 13000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure is approx 13000 per year. There are some govt. scholarships also. One of them is the "Swami Vivekananda Scholarship" which is applicable for students with over 60% marks and the amount is 18000 per year for BSc students.

Campus Life

The annual fest "Prayash" is conducted in a great manner. Handicraft fest "Creative Sotta" celebrates just before the puja vacation. Various creative arrangements, sports, quiz competitions, cosplay, art exhibitions, games, rock climbing, and so on. Almost all needed books are available in the library. Overall the ambiance is great.

Admission

The admission process is completely based on the result of the 12th board examination and verifying the documents properly. The application form is available on the official website of the college. Application fees are based on course type and subjects. The application portal opens after the 12th board examination as per CU (Calcutta University) notices. There are some seat reservations for reserved candidates also.

SXC Kolkata is a gem of a college.

Placement Experience:

Computers are so vast that masters is mandatory and therefore I have certain plans for that. However big scale IT companies come here and students of Computer science Hons have had placements worth 6-10 lakhs easily. My plans are to appear for the job interviews but not taking any as I want to study more.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum was well-structured, and each semester, there were projects and presentations that also helped to test our knowledge. I got influenced as the curriculum provides us with financial economics, political economics, and Applied mathematics. The level of the exams was decent, related to the course. They could improve in teaching more practical knowledge and projects related to that, instead of only learning in a theoretical way.

Placement Experience:

Placements and job oppurtinities are less since this is an undergraduate college offwering honours degree. Though there is a placement and career councelling cell that looks over this matter. Placements are offered only in a few subjects, such as industrial chemisrty and computer science. The rate of placements are very high and come with high packages. Though I am not interested in placements, but I have started taking preparations for compititive exams. Such preparations are very supported here, rather than jobs and placements.
