Course Curriculum Overview
I chose this course as I already wanted to become a software engineer and I always liked tweaking things and fixing things in my computer from my school days.And , at that time this course was on high demand, infact, it still is. The faculty to student ratio is about 1:60. There's no question about the qualification of the faculty, as they are best in what they do , i.e, teaching. They also gave constant moral support to me , in my daily endeavours. Most of the teachers are PhD holders and some are currently doing. The exams were almost timely, late for 15 days. The exams were difficult as the question paper was set by makaut University.
Internships Opportunities
As I am in my 3rd semester, We haven't got any internships as Internships mostly start from the 4th semester. There are many startups and companies which are linked up to our college's Training and Placement Cell, which helps us in getting internships.
Placement Experience
From 6th semester onwards, students become eligible for campus placements. There are many companies which visit our college among them two are mass recruiters, TCS and Infosys. Last year TCS and Infosys, made around 45-50 offers. The highest package previous year was 24 lacs made by a startup company called Nutanix. Percentage of students getting placed is around 30 to 40%.
Fees and Financial Aid
Every year the fees increase by a minimum of 25 percentage. The cost of study is moderate for me, i say, actually it depends on the background of your family, is it if you are coming from a middle class or working class,etc. The scholarship I got was SVMCM , there are many other scholarship available for certain backward castes ..
Campus Life
There's a tech fest called TechNova which is organised in February every year. And the annual fest called Fiesta which happens in the summer time. There are over 10000 books in our clg library and plenty of latest journals to keep up with the trend. We have well spacious classrooms with Projectors and good benches for sitting. There are almost 8 different clubs and societies which are run by students , some of them are cultural, Tech, Robotics, Dev Society.
Admission
Eligibility of the course was either you have completed your higher secondary schooling (10+2) , or have completed a diploma course. You can find the application form in college office itself or its website. You can get student credit card and loan, there are also many incentives you get on top of that. In the present, I think the admission process is simplified to its level best and already improved.
