Remarks

Lady Shri ram college for women is a dream place for every woman. They instill a sense of pride along with responsibility in each one of us, taught us to take our own stands at every point in life without depending on anyone. The kind of perfect mind grooming I got here, wouldn't have been possible anywhere else. I owe every inch of my existence to this place.

Entrance Preview

By merit. It depended upon the % one scores in class 12th. No interview process, direct admission once you qualify the given %. I am really passionate about reading, which led me take this course.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

English honors Just the best amount of theoretical and practical leanings. In English literature, we were taught to extend our leanings to the current socio- political and economic scenario. We had different interdisciplinary papers in different semesters, ranging from modern Indian history, Western philosophy, EVS, Hindi etc.

Internships Opportunities

Yes college did provide a lot of internships which adds a lot to one's CV and also hones their skills, which otherwise would go unnoticed. It was a mix of office based and virtual internships. Not every internship provided stipend, only selective internships were paid, others just gave a letter of recommendation along with a certificate.

Placement Experience

4.5

Placement was much better in my college as compared to other DU colleges. We had more placements for mainstream courses like bcom, eco, stats while English had less placement opportunities. Inshorts, De Shaw, McKinsey were the major companies that visited college English graduates were preferred for profiles like content writing/editing, proofreading, copywriting etc. Average package was 4 lakhs annually

College Events

3

Annual fest- tarang Footfall nearly 18-20k diwali mela footfall 6- 7k the Oc handled the fests really well, giving really nice evenings of enjoyment. the college authorities didn't contibute to the funds, but they definitely provided security. the funds were raised entirely by the sponsorship team.

Fee Structure And Facilities

13,0000 annually Pg rate- 1.5 lakhs annually Hostel rate- 60k annually.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yes we had many diverse scholarships. No, i didn't avail any scholarship but yes there were scholarships which were given on financial needs, which covered the beneficiary's tuition fee.

Campus Life

3.5

Great! my college had many societies like dance soc, drama soc, Indian music soc, western music soc, women's development cell, world university service etc. these societies gave every student a fair chance to explore their hidden talents and all the admissions to the societes were based on competitive rounds like shortlisting through application forms and PI.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

I resided in PG in my first year after which I got the college hostel in the second year and I continued it for the third year as well. First and second years had to share their rooms, which was a twin sharing while the third years got a single room. Hostel food was best, hostel was like second home for all of us. Hostel admin organised special dinners for us and cultural nights. Pgs charge exorbitant amount as and how they please, as their is no rent control rule in place. The food is also of low quality.

Alumni/Alumna

Yes, there was a separate society called alumna cell for this purpose. the alumna cell organized various events like alumna bazaar, in which alumni were invited to put up their stalls and be benefited by it which in turn also increased the interaction. alumni also gave donations to college. otherwise we also had regular talks delivered by alumni on various topics like career options, entrepreneurship etc.

Exam Structure

It was a very hectic schedule. We certainly had no labs schedule but a 9 to 5 class schedule made our day superlong. Of course Saturdays we're off, but still weekdays made sure that we couldn't do anything else than attending classes. We had lectures plus tutorials, tutorials promoted more interaction as a group of only 12-13 students met the teachers unlike the whole class in lectures.

Faculty

4.5

Diverse, well researched faculty. we had teachers who actually took pains for students. They encouraged us to question everything and not just take anything at it's face value. Interactive classroom was a regular phenomena. Teachers used to share with a us a range of new and time tested criticism available on a topic, for us to develop a critical perspective.

The NEP 2020 curriculum has increased the workload for the professors as well as for the students. cramming up the syllabus for 7 different subjects is extremely strenuous. improvements could be done to make the syllabus less theoretical and more practical.

Honestly, placement depends upon your skill. Even 1st year student do sit for placement and if your skill matches the vacancy, you are placed. As such there is no criterion for sitting for placement and no barriers of year you belong to.

German course has high demands and in germany there are relevant chances that I can get good paying jobs,I would say that the teachers are really nice, if you study well they will help you alot and are really appreciable, I would say there are none to improve because it's kinda easy to study the subject on your own, the difficulty of exams are what it should be like, it's good it's great, to make you a better person and student, and the time duration they give is enough to solve each and every exams
