IIT ROORKEE - A dream for many!!!

I chose this course for my passion regarding machinery and all the working behind production in industrial scales. My batch has 60 students and we had 6 courses in 1st semester. All faculties are highly qualified and have done their PhD's from reputed universities. Exams were moderately tough, you can pass them with bare minimum efforts.

I'm in my first year so I don't have much knowledge about this but there are seniors who have got internships in respective branches. Around 360 students have grabbed intership opportunities in different corporates.

Students become eligible for placements in 7th semester(i.e start of 4th year). A lot of companies have visited till date around 850 offers have been given in the first 15 days placement drive. Highest package was an international offer of about 2.1cr to a CSE student. Around 80-90% of students get placed. I will be working as a software developer aftery degree

The fees is pretty high though. I paid 1.5 lakhs for my 1st semester (including hostel charges). But if you are from economically weaker backgrounds,you can avail fee waiver. If you have your family income below 1 lakh/year, you need to pay 50 thousand only. While, if it's less than 5lakh/year. It will be 1 lakh .

Cultural fest of IIT ROORKEE is THOMSO. It is the biggest cultural fest in North India. While the tech fest is cognizance. The Mahatma Gandhi Central Library has all sorts of book you need and it is situated just beside the lecture hall complex. Almost all sports are played under proper guidance. Talking about clubs, there are a lot. All the clubs are managed by students and recruitment for the club is done by rigorous interviews.

I am residing in a single occupancy room but there are triple sharing rooms also(no fee difference). Room is pretty enough to live in. Food quality is very nice and all sorts of food are included in weekly menu. Registration process for hostel was quite simple and was quick enough.

I first qualified JEE MAINS and then qualified JEE MAINS with 99.13 percentile and then gave my JEE Advanced in which I scored 12000 rank(obc rank-2900) and got my admission in IIT ROORKEE. You need to be have 75% marks in class 12 to be able to get admission in IIT. All admission details were availables on JoSAA.
